Cry At a Movie?

Passion of the Christ

Saving Private Ryan shouldn’t count. I visited that cemetary in Normandy where that was filmed as a young Army Lt. Just standing there makes you cry. Same thing happened to me at the AZ memorial on Pearl, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the valley of the Somme in France.

I saw this movie after something similar happened to me.

I only watched it once, and probably won’t watch it again.

I cried at the end of Scarface. You can’t help but root for Tony at the end to continue fighting against all odds… :frowning:

Braveheart choked me up when he yells freedom.

Four Feathers. The african guy is just the coolest and the concept of what he is doing.

For some reason I only get choked up and I could cry but for some reason I just can’t, I fight it mercilessly, but these two I remember leaving me very very choked up.

Awakenings - Seeing Robert DeNiro`s evolution and then the reversion … tough one.

Somebody mentioned animated films, and that reminded me of the saddest movie I’ve ever seen: “Grave of the Fireflies.” (Original Japanese title: “Hotaru no haka”)

It’s not just one scene that’s sad; the whole film will drain you.

Yes…that was a great movie. I understand it was based on a true story.

The only time I can remember crying as an adult was when I graduated basic training and when I got married(happy tears :-P), movies get me really choked up, but no tears

Chownie mentioned Band of Brothers, I can never get enough of that series-I always get choked up when I think of the sacrafices people make for our freedom.

Return of the king when they see the eye destroyed and one of the hobbits cheers “frodo!”

Unnecessary Roughness is supposed to be a comedy, but at the end when the underdog catches the ball and wins the game chokes me up big time.

Disney animated movie Hercules-at the end, no teasing!

and anything with Scarlett Johannson or Elisha Cuthbert in it, cuz it makes me realize I’ll never be able to hit that…ever.

I feel your pain; Scarlett in that cat suit in “The Island” comes to mind…

Oh! I almost forgot; “The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, when Jim Carrey is trying to hide his last memory of his girlfriend (Kate Winslet) from the techs; “no, not this one… Not this one!”

I wept at the end of Roadhouse…it was just that awesome.

Yep. The Passion of the Christ.
Yup. Also at the end of Last of the Mohicans.

I cried during the whole movie.

Sadder than Next of Kin? THAT is a tear jerker.

Speaking of Awakenings…it reminds me of how good an actor Robin Williams can be when he’s not acting like a total idiot. He can be very sincere. My wife cries at Turner and Hooch…when the dog dies. My wife, I said…err…not me. I’m hardcore!

I know, I know - I’m a pussy (but I am what I eat!!)

They you so tenderly describe Million Dollar Baby brings a tear to my eye.

By the way, Auburn is a kick-ass college town.
What can I say, I have a way of capturing moments with so few words.

Auburn is an unbelievable college town with a lot of hot ass girls. It is sadly missed!!
TEARS BEGIN TO FORM

Cinema Paradiso.

It won best foreign film in like 1991 or something. Anyway, the ending really got me.

This is a thread worth resurrecting.

It’s somehat embarassing considering that one of my least favorite placenta eating actors starred in it…

but “The Last Samurai”. Yea cheesy, whatever. The point at the end right before Watanabe Ken dies he says “They are all perfect…” referring to cherry-blossoms. It was a tear jerker considering how at one point he expressed that you could spend your entire life looking for the perfect cherry blossom.

What got me is that you always realize how good shit is right before it’s gone or right after it’s gone. But even more so it points to the fact that everything is exactly as it should be, fucked up and all. Cest la vie.
Bob Saget, that was deep…even if it was 2 years ago.
