i dont kno what you guys are talking about eatting healthy being close to the same price from a personal standpoint. My budget has more than doubled since i started eatting good. If you want good quality meats, milk, and grains then you’ll be spending a ton of money. it aint cheap bein healthy. and as to the OP, its a tough question.

Quite right! But if you continue to give your buisness to co-ops and organinc farms then in the long run the demand for those products should bring the over-all cost down. also, think about it like shopping at the mom-and-pop stores in your area v. shopping at the big corporate chains–it is just better for your communinty if you support those stores than sending your money to some unknown person another city away.

Also remember that many of the core ingredients in crap food are heavily subsidized by the federal government. Things might not be quite so skewed here if we let market forces work.

my idiot roommate eats subway almost every day. he says he wants to lose weight, but he is a glutton and has no self control at all. i hope the bastard stays fat.

he spends 10 bucks on a sub and some diet sprite. while i stay here and cook up some rice and veggies and chicken for a stirfry that is twice as big as his meal and way healthier…and more imppotantly, damn well cheaper !!!

With respect to health food vs. fast food, I think there are two sides to the coin. It is troubling to think of how much fast food the average joe consumes. However, what bothers me is the people who claim to eat “healthy” when they are just trying to lose weight to get a nice appearence.

I know of someone who thought they were eating healthy by avoiding meat periodically (and they didn’t attempt to increase their consumption of nuts, dairy, etc. to gain protein). Maybe they weren’t doing what I thought - just trying to cut some calories to lose weight, but this sounds far from healthy to me.

Jason.

people dont want to waster their time cooking food that is so essential to their bodies. they would rather eat some cardboard deep fried in oil with a their huge 44oz. drinks. god forbid these people think about drinking water. imo bbq food i make taste better than some fuck down at burger king. goodness i cant believe i was once like this as a child.

From the corporate stand point I don’t see why they can’t offer whole wheat, fruit, nuts, sweet potato, etc.

They have a strong enough incentive that I doubt they’ll ever cut back much from the preservatives.
