I agree. She also seems humble for how successful she is. I’ve heard her poke fun at herself a few times. She has stated that she is glad Whitney Houston got famous with her cover of “I will always love you”.
Would be better if more celebrities were like her.
I like Gojira quite a bit. IDK if that is strictly melodic death metal. I think Death (credited by most as the first death metal band) and Amon Amarth would be in that category? Like both of those bands. Haven’t explored that genre of metal as much as metalcore though. Amon Amarth has a special place in my heart because I like Norse Mythology stuff (not that I practice it).
Miley Cyrus and Parton do a cover of it, which I genuinely enjoy.
My confession is I listened to a lot of 1989 (Deluxe Edition) while lifting when it came out, it included the voice memos of how she (Taylor Swift) made a few songs, I didn’t skip them.
I typically like early 90’s / late 80’s rock when lifting. I’ll let ITunes set a playlist off of Corrosion of Conformity, Tool, Monster Magnet or something similar.
But cringy to some I would imagine, Texas has its own local country music scene and I listen to it too. It doesn’t have a particularly motivating beat or lyrics but it’s easy to cruise through a routine because it’s the music I like in general vs intentionally setting a tone. Just having a good time getting stronger. Easy segway to checking the smoker too.
Not a song, but more often then I care to admit I’ll put a nature documentary on as background noise while lifting. It is almost always a documentary about crocodiles (no idea why, I just have a weird fascination with them).
That’s really interesting. I tried to lift to audio books once and couldn’t make it work. If the set got intense, it’s like my ears (or my comprehension of what I was hearing) shut off. Good for NEPA though.
