So I have only been following the sox closely for a year now and this Manny episode had me disturbed. I went to his second to last game here in Boston and sat out in left field with the Manny fans. Alot of people including children were screaming his name and he wouldn’t even acknowledge them. It is true that by now he was greatly dissatisfied with the way he was getting treated by management but it still upset me.
Instead he was biting his nails, didn’t even have his glove on his hand, and running into the green monster for who knows what. I understand that since I have only been a fan for a year, I might be missing the big picture so if anyone has two cents?? (^:
i’m disturbed at how nesn(new england sports network) started dropping “anti-manny” bombs into their programming 3 days before this happened and then how they opened the floodgates and the media all piled on. the worst case of this being that first year barbie doll reporter heidi watney. so obvious was this carl rovian effort to slam manny that jerry remy said several times " i will not manny bash".
i’m disturbed the sox couldn’t find a way to play ball with the most exciting and impactful player we’ve had since yaz. if you can’t find a way to get along with a guy like manny, with a guy who produces EVERY YEAR, i mean like what the fuck ? this bodes well for the future ?
equally i’m also disturbed how we traded him for practically nothing in return and are still paying his salary. how is this a smart move ? how does this make the team better ? those next 2 year 20 mil options for a first round hall of famer were a bargain. john henry knows it…fucking theo doesn’t.
i shouldn’t be so disturbed though … after fucking over guys like roger, pedro, nomar & johnny d., derek lowe and even manny the first time in 2005, i should’ve seen it coming. fucking sox. it’s gonna be a loooong time.

Geez, I thought all the guys liked having Heidi Watley around!! I did hear that the red sox franchise controls the media because the reporters all want good tickets to the games. Oh well, so much for free speech.

don’t get me wrong heidi is pretty damn hot but it’s annoying to have to hit the mute button everytime she comes on.
