Zeb-
Regarding Honesty and integrity how do you feel about what Creed posted? You probably can rationalize everthing Bush did right?
Elkhntr1,
This is as good a time to as any to tell you that I always read your posts, and I think that you are a very sharp individual. Plenty of times I may not agree with you, but I usually learn something. And I thank you for that!
As far as what G. W. Bush has done in his past, some of it was certainly wrong. Some of creeds post is purely speculation. Fixing elections and drug involvement is sort of the liberals dream of Bushs past. No proof has ever been given relative to those claims.
Also, what a man has done at age 30 cannot be compared to what one does as a sitting President. Clinton disgraced the office! Nixon disgraced the office! Other Presidents of both parties have also committed this act. To date Bush has not.
I know that liberals think he is the anti-Christ (oops I forgot many liberals don’t seem to believe in God-sorry).
The actualy point of my post was to simply state why I felt let down by the Clinton presidency. My opinion, nothing more. Liberals hate Bush and post as to why they feel cheated. It’s okay…that’s politics.
Clinton did what? He “strengthening the international community”???
How do you figure? Come on now, back that up.
President Bush had to deal with 9/11 as a result of Clinton’s “strengthening the international community”.
I just don’t see the logic in this?
Hey, while we’re on the subject of Clinton, we know about his cheating, what I don’t understand is why people are trying to figure out why he cheats. For example, there are some silly speculations made that he’s a sex addict (arn’t we all?) or because he’s had bad/weird relationship with women, including his mom. To me it’s pretty freaking obvious. He cheats because he’s a freaking guy! He cheats for the same reason millions of other men cheat: just good old unexplicable urge to need to have as many females as possible!
Anyway, I realize this is a silly post and it’s not as deep as some of the discussions here, so please go easy on me. Don’t beat me up too bad over this. But I really need to get this off my chest, 'cause if I’m going to see another analysis of “the real reason why he cheated” on tv or the papers/magazines, I’m going to puke!
From what I heard on CSPAN regarding the planning of the state funeral Nancy had the primary guest speakers picked well aforehand. Obviously, the only nod that had to be given was the sitting president.
No, I don’t believe that this was a politicized funeral at all. One of Reagan’s most well-known traits was his ability and willigness to bridge the D-R gap during personal time. He did not give much on policy but he was often friends with his most vociferous opponents (a la Tip O’Neill).
Replies to previously asserted “facts”.
G.W.B. never dodged his service. That was a rumor that was blown way out of proportion after being prematurely published in the NYT. No-one ever had fact to back it up. To the contrary, a great deal of paperwork including orders, medical records, promotion, and performance records indicate otherwise.
Regarding International politics and the Clintonion era. I have one point that I wish to drop. China. We gave preferred nation status to China. Reagan was a good example of how to defeat an “evil empire”. Grant concessions, with reparations. China has not changed it’s policy toward people (see recent news regarding H.K.) and now they have significant financial backing to prop up an otherwise illegitimate regime. Now Beijing will host the Olympics. Partially because Clinton helped fortify their standing in the international community? Rather than have nations scrutinize their human rights issues?
Could be… or it could be that my medication is wearing off again…

It’s interesting how the people that hate Bush always say he avoided serving in the military, or was AWOL even though that charge has been disproved numerous times.
But they gladly support Clinton, who avoided serving by leaving the country, burning his draft card, and leading anti-American demonstrations overseas.
Now it seems to me that serving in the National Guard is much more honorable than being a draft dodger, but then again I can’t think logically because I haven’t consumed the liberal kool-aid.
