Every man I have every fallen in love with has cooked for me.
This has also resulted in me having a unrequited crush on a man too. :-/
Be careful with this power of cooking, men it is dangerous. 0_0
Oh and the recipes sound NOM!

Brand doesn’t matter much. I like porters and brown ale with beef. IPAs make mean chicken and pork.
Speaking of cornbread, I highly recommend a Google search for crawfish cornbread, ya’ll.
Salsa is the key to all chili.
Can’t let this thread die. Has anyone been to a good restaurant that specializes in chili? Maybe its where I’ve lived but I can’t think of any that I’ve been to or heard of.

Real chili doesn’t have a determined recipe. Only certain ingredients to taste.
Red meat
chili peppers
chili powder
cumin
garlic
black pepper
tomato paste is permissable but only in small amounts. You are not making tomato soup or sloppy joes.
Cook it low and slow.
Can be topped with diced white onions, raw. Serve with cornbread.
No beans, no veggies, no tomato “chunks”.
If you want an itemized and exact recipe just google chili recipe. There are probably millions.[/quote]
This, but I usually throw in a bunch of potatoes too (cooked separately)
Red peppers taste great in chili too
Did anybody here try DBCooper’s recipe?
I hate cooking, but I think I’d actually consider giving that recipe a go…
This’ll piss of the chili purists. But no one takes us Floridians seriously, so a little gastronomic blasphemy is allowed.
White Chicken Chili
1.) Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper, sear chicken until lightly browned.
2.) Process the onions, garlic, poblanos, anaheims, and 2 jalapenos in a food processor for 8-10 pulses, or until it resembles chunky salsa.
3.) Remove chicken from the pan and saute the veggie mixture along with the cumin and coriander until veggies soften ~10 minutes.
4.) Return one cup of veggie mix to the food processor along with 1 cup broth and 1 cup beans. Process until smooth.
5.) Combine smooth mix, and the remaining broth, beans, veggie mix, and chicken in a pot - simmer until chicken is cooked through ~20 minutes.
6.) Remove chicken and shred into bite-sized pieces. Stir back into chili along with the remaining jalapeno, lime juice, cilantro, and scallions.
7.) Serve with sour cream, avocados, and diced red onion.
HA! This week I received a Texas Cookbook from a relative. Had about 6 pages of chilis and I saw the White Chili recipe for the first time. Was going to post it, but you beat me to it! Looks good (and different) to me!
