Bad news: They’re trapped at 2300 feet below in an area the size of a small apartment, and likely will not be rescued for 4 MONTHS.
Take 33 friends and imagine spending every hour with them for four months in a nice small apartment, with gourmet food and premium wine. I’m willing to bet you’d go nuts and wind up bludgeoning someone to death with an empty wine bottle.
Now imagine 32 grizzled miners, reeking of soot and human waste, in a dark and uncomfortably hot chamber “the size of a small apartment” deep in the bowels of the Earth, with their only contact to the outside world being glucose and mineral water dropped through a narrow borehole…and they’re in such a state until CHRISTMAS!!
What a test of human resiliency this will be. I hope the Chilean government gives these poor people a sick pension, rocket cars and solid gold toilets so they never have to see the inside of a mine again
I’m communicating with some of my profs about this. It will no doubt be a great find in regards to the field of psychology. These are very severe conditions…I really think they’ll start some type of “society” and war between each other. People love to group themselves and eventually they will breakdown into “animal”.
Just my thought of whats possible. Even if its not that drastic, some of them will be batshit crazy by XMas.
I’m excited to see what happens…probably nothing since they do have communication with the outside world.
When I first read that yesterday, I didn’t know that they were in a ‘safehouse’ like with food and stuff. So I thought they were eating each other or something
At the end of the 4 months, 2 miners left heehee

But no… it’s good that it didn’t come to that.[/quote]

Of course it must be terrible knowing you’re going to be down there for that long but also imagine how terrifying it’s going to be to get winched up and out of there in a tunnel 26 inches wide.
