Changing from TRT to HCG, Feeling Awful

It makes sense that they could be taken together. My doc seems to think I could take them individually as a mono therapy.

Anastrozole is not going to do dick for you as monotherapy. It will just crash your E2 and you’ll feel like crap if you are taking it on it’s own.

I haven’t and I’m hoping I won’t have to. Right now I’m waiting on my wife to discontinue some of the meds she is on so it will be safe to have a child.

I’m hopeful that resuming anastrozole while on clomid will be effective and not cause the terrible side effects since it’s actually lowering my e2 to a tolerable level instead of crashing it.

And his body will never find it balance. If will always be going up and then
Stopped midway or all the way.

Why take an ai. The chlomid will
Not produce the same effect without ai.

Isn’t chlomid part estrogen? I believe crissler explained this.

Jsut becuss someone suggests something does not make if good advice. You need to think about this logically. Look at the mechanism behind estrogen and chlomid.

There is a reason your body creates estrogen. Because it needs it.

You spent years having low t, now your body has T and the receptors are slowly becoming active. Your symptoms will go away with time. Or the dose can be modified. Otherwise taking an ai is hampering a natural process.

This forum bord is not moderated for good or bad advice.

Be careful with suggestions.

Sure it will and as long as he takes clomid his E2 will be too high.

E2 high Free t and DHT low. Recipe for disaster.

What do you mean clomid will not produce the same effect without ai?

Are you advocating for or against using an ai with clomid?

Strange, I felt way better on just hCG than I ever did on trt or trt + hCG. Not sure what your dosage is, 1ml could mean anything depending on how much bac water you add, 5ml to a 5000iu kit would be 1000iu/ml for example.

Anyway too late now but if you planned on continuing trt after having a baby you could have had a semen analysis to see if you even had fertility issues, I believe up to 1/3, (maybe a bit less but 95% going infertile isn’t accurate) of men can stay fertile on trt even without hCG. Assuming you were infertile while you could of remained on trt going off gives you the best chance.

Sounds good and best of luck to you both mate.

I just got my latest labs after about 5 weeks of clomid mono therapy:

Testosterone: 484 ng/dL

Fsh: 9.0 mIU/mL

Estradiol: 31.3 pg/mL

Here’s what they were just before starting clomid:

Testosterone (Total,LC/MS/MS): 441
FSH: 0.3
Estradiol: 37

So slight increase in test. but looks like a spike in fsh, and interesting my estradiol is actually lower.

What do you guys make of these results? I haven’t heard from the doc yet.

How do you feel?

I feel a bit more strength and energy. My muscles are regaining tone. However, the depression and anxiety side effects continue to be unpleasant.

Did you have anxiety before the Clomid?

I did, but it wasn’t near as bad.

I’m gonna ask doc about lowering clomid dose from .25 to .125.

I felt bat shit crazy when I tried Clomid, even at 0.125/day for a few days…

No kidding - this stuff sucks.

I’d really love to quit taking it, but kinda concerned my testosterone would crash.

Can’t do TRT right now because we are trying to conceive.

Yeah, it sucks for some people. I was having crazy anxiety, flipping out on people and making a scene in restaurants… it was bad. I’m usually super laid back and quiet.

I would have thought HCG would have worked better but sounds like you had some problems there too. I haven’t read the whole thread though so I don’t know all the details.

Yea that sounds about right. I definitely feel like flipping out at times, but I usually hold it in because I’m so down.

HCG did work better, but unfortunately my insurance would only cover it for 2 months. Out of pocket it’s more than $300 a month.

Compounding pharmacies are cheaper, about $75 at Empower.
