Challenge your orthodox beliefs

I used to read the MMT folks years ago (Kelton, Mosler mostly). It is kind of funny to be talking about them now. But back in the ZIRP days, they were a big temptation for many.

I still think the MMT take on the unintended consequences of government surpluses was worth reading at a time when everyone was focused on the dot-com bust.

Well then, please enlighten us.

And knowing how federal finance works can certainly change our country for the better. We could all have nice things… The physical overhead of everyday life could be substantially lighter. Stress would be much lower. So things can change for the better.

It’s not about being smarter than anyone else. It’s about opening your eyes and ears and challenging the official narrative.

When particular resources run out.

Well for one-inflation.

They are and have been becoming more scarce and narrow.

You knowing won’t do jack shit unless you do something with that knowledge. If you want to help go talk to your local representative and ask him how to make a difference. They will absolutely not tell you to go argue with strangers on the internet.

You may want to close something, because your openness is allowing a vital organ to escape.

I don’t really disagree there

Yeah cause it has a rich history of working.

That’s garbage

The government should issue greenbacks or work bonds against concrete public work such as infrastructure.

Not create more and more debt to inject in the financial system to bail out the bad debts of big actors constantly (which is what the whole idea is really about)

This is very different, the latter is interest bearing debt-money that could lead to more productive economy (or not). The former is not debt and doesn’t bear interest. It is currency linked to completed work that you can’t speculate with.

It literally does, if you don’t want to try then stop talking dude. It’s like someone having opinions on rep ranges when they won’t go to the gym.

It’s literally so easy, you can just call the constituent office and someone will get back to you, the only reason you haven’t is because you’re too lazy to pick up the phone

When I lived in Florida I emailed our 2 senators at the time. Rubio and it was an absolute waste of time-as expected.

Most likely not the politicians. Probably one of their employees.

Bro I’m talking to you as someone who is active in making the country a better place, I’m not giving you hypothetical advice, call your congressman dumbass, not a senator who is talking to the AP every 6 seconds.

And CALL to ask for an irl way to be involved, your emails and letters will get handled by a college kid doing volunteering. You need to talk to a person and physically go to a place, do some work, show some good faith, then you get more access

So do tell. What are you doing?

Perhaps they didn’t understand what you wrote.

Or they determined he is just a whiny clown

So, is it ok to eat shellfish now?

Rubio wrote some bullshit about the CFPB, trying to blame it on all Warren. What an asshole. Basically, point in the other direction to try and obfuscate the issue. A complete piece of shit. No wonder he had no problem passing his senate confirmation. He’s a good boy and be counted on to keep the lid on any scandal and keep the official narrative going.

Yeah complaining about him not doing his job and me having the audacity to call him out on it. Man, what a whiny little bitch I am.
