Randy Couture. How can you not like this guy?

I was thinking of putting down some fighters, but I didn’t know whether they were considered celebrities. But since you posted, I might as well:
Oscar De La Hoya: yeah, every phrase that comes out of his mouth when promoting a fight is a cliche, but he’s good for the sport. He doesn’t curse, respects his opponents, and overall, quite personable.
Kostya Tszyu: it doesn’t matter that Ricky Hatton wasn’t fighting by the rules - he was constantly smothering Tszyu, hitting a few low blows, and the referee saw all this, and allowed it to go one. And despite all this, you know what Tszyu did after the fight? He said “You were the better man and you deserved to win. If you ever need any help and advice I’ll give you my phone number and I’ll be there for you.” Tszyu is one of the classiest man in any sport.

The Rock. He manages to make any cheezy movie funny.
I’ll second this, for several reasons:
He went to my high school
I broke his single-season sack record for football at said high school, my most prized claim to fame
I met him and he’s cool as hell
I’ll also throw in votes for Clive Owen, Aaron Eckhart, and Scarlett Johansen. All are very talented and at least seem mildly modest, which seems to be quite a feat in Hollywood.[/quote]

Did you get a scholarship?

I take it you mean did I get a scholarship for football to play in college? Yes, but I don’t think that breaking The Rock’s sack record was the sole reason for it…

Michelle Branch. It certainly helps that she’s quite good looking, but I’ve seen a few interviews and she comes across as very genuine. And her music, well…2 outta 3 aint bad.

I don’t even think her music is that bad. Of course it helps that she has worked with Santana a couple times.
This will crack you up, but I had a chance to meet Richard Simmons (my brother produces his talk radio show) and must say he’s a pretty cool guy who is COMPLETELY dedicated to health and fitness. Sat in his living room and talked to him for about 30 minutes. He’s a naturally funny guy. I’m a Marine and about as homophobic as they come, but I have to admit Richard Simmons is a really decent guy who truly believes in what he does and has made a difference to thousands of people.
Anti-celebrities though, now that’s a different story. You know - people that were so damn cool or talented, that despite their best efforts, they couldn’t help but be famous. That’s my kind of people.
I’ll throw out another vote for Henry Rollins. A self made T-man who tells it like it is. His music has gone down the tubes, but he speaks just as good as ever.
Brad Pitt, I really like his work, as much as I hate to admit it. He has played some awesome roles, and played them well (my favorites are 12 Monkeys and Fight Club). I don’t know much and care less about his off screen personality.
I’m a big fan of Jon Stewart. He is funny, quick and aware of what is going on. I’ve seen him in interviews and he seems like a humble, normal guy, who appreciates what he has. I bet he gets involved politically down the road. I have no reason to say this, but it is a hunch.
Kid Rock- I don’t really care for his music and I think his public persona is a joke, but he is a really cool guy. He used to frequent a club I worked at. He was nice to all the staff, grateful for service, declined special treatment (he still got it). More than once I have seen him by a round of drinks for the whole club, more than 200 people. Compare him to Emenim, who came to the same club a different night, demanded a private section, didn’t greet or speak to fans, ran up a $500 tab and didn’t tip a cent.

If her style of music actually appealed to me, I’d probably find her songs better than the rest. It’s just a genre I can’t get into though.
Sylvester Stallone - his only movies I’ve seen are the 5 Rockys and Cliffhanger. I like him for the first 4 Rockys, and maybe Rocky VI (we have yet to see how that will turn out).
Mariusz Pudzianowski: not only is he amazing at strongman contests, but from what I’ve seen during those shows is he interacts with the spectators, and plays with the kids. Seems like a cool guy.
maynard james keenan - lead singer of tool and a perfect circle
claudia black - farscape, pitch black and stargate. aussie actress.
gary oldman
Jeremey Clarkson – top gear
Dan Simmons - amazing writer
and i have to add a few fighters too
Andrei Arlovski - awesome athlete
Sakuraba - mogolian chop
Genki Sudo - unorthodox but good
Georges St. Pierre - great fighter
Ikuhisa “the punk” Minowa - super cool
