Yes most definitely I would. Lets start with the primary example, Paris Hilton. If my family built a multi-million dollar enterprise and prestige for the name of the family I would not ruin it by whoring myself out to the world in public, in private and on camera.
K-Fed. If I married a beautiful, sucessful, extremely rich woman I wouldn’t mess it up by being a douchbag every day.
The main thing with these celebrities that we hate is they began normal people like us and a little bit of fame completely changed who they were, they became something that they aren’t. Normal people can’t respect false celebrities, but we can respect real ones. I.E. Larry Bird, Brett Favre, even as far as Eminem because they never turned their backs on what they were because of added fame and fourtune.[/quote]
People really have it in for Paris that’s for sure … the thing with her is, she grew up in LA where she was nobody (but rich) but moved to NY where - tah dah - she is relatively young and attractive compared to the other wealthy peoples there (well compared to LA where there are tonnes of real celebs). Instant celeb … no doubt she was insecure growing up in LA and suddenly, she is Miss Popular.
Don’t forget also she is really young. And often drunk, no doubt. Also don’t forget it was her grandad who built up Hilton, not her parents, she is 2nd generation of “living on previous achievements”. I do think she has a sense of humour about herself though, sometimes.
But more than that, she has an inflated sense of self importance. I love the way she was trying to get married in Westminster, because “I’m the closest thing to American Royalty” … lol good one, well in that case get married in the closest thing to american royaltys’ holy church, at the superdome.
K-Fed. Have not got a crap who that is. Never heard of him/her/it. Could not care less. I do think in america you get a lot of celebs shoved down your throat. In Australia people really don’t care that much, at least that is the response a lot of celebs get when they come down here (which they enjoy).
Note however that my “what would you do in their shoes” obviously doesn’t apply to ALL of them, some are quite whacko.
The “celebs” most worthy of hate though would have to be people like the guys at Enron etc… their actions have crushed lives of many people (e.g destroyed life savings). I think it is far worse that some person works their life away week after week to save up to retire and sees it all disappear due to some corrupt numbnuts, far more worthy of hate than celebs who are skinny, stupid or full of themselves.
