Carbo deplete then load

Have you guys ever been on a low carb diet and struggled with running, then once you carbo load that one day a week you have enough energy to run twice as far? Does anyone know why this is? I am just curious. It has happen to me a couple of times after I carbo loaded after a couple of weeks on a low carb diet. I was stuggling to make 3 miles. After carbo loading I did 6 miles no problem. I know people here hate cardio, but I was just curious if anyone had any insight on why this occurs? I think it is because your body learns to manage and make more use out of the carbohydrates it does have in its system. This is just a theory. Anyone that has some science background please help me understand. Thanks.
