Canadian Soldiers Dying More

I’m not crying, I’m insulting you. There is a difference blowhard.

Other than continually trying to help out beginners by responding to threads that I think I may be able to help with?
I know - I know - you try to take in all the information and think about shit. Guess what - nobody cares. You are not the person you wish you were when you look in the mirror.

On the other hand -

Whether you like what I do or not is of no concern to me. I drive up hits. People look to see if I have posted because I draw a reaction. Good, bad, or ugly - peole know I have posted, and they are either pissed or laughing, or in agreement.
LOL.

There are all kinds of people on the planet dude. Some of them even care for things other than nude pictures and fist fights. I know that doesn’t make a lot of sense to a retard like yourself, but it’s the truth.

Break? There’s been very little down here worth talking about lately. Maybe you saw some of the threads on the subject?
I have always disliked your particular brand of bullshit. You have every right to sling it - but try to stop the fucking waterworks when I exercise my right to reply.

Besides - about the only way your are going to get anyone to read what you wrote is if I come in and post behind you.
Oh, look, it’s double standard man. I tell you that your shit stinks and I’m whining, but when you say the same, oh, it’s extra cool.

Just take all of your own words and eat them, because they apply just as well when I’m griping about your incredibly stupid nonsense. Blah blah blah. Same old bullshit. Maybe some day you’ll grow up?

I’m not going to hold my breath.

Maybe someday you will as well?

I won’t hold mine either.

You stop throwing the first punch I’ll stop throwing the second…

What are the chances that a thread in the poli forum would go off topic? I must say I am surprised at you guys.

So did we come to some kind of consensus here? My poor choice of humor aside (another surprise!) is it because the Canadian troops are deployed in more dangerous areas? Are they not supported well enough? Not wearing armor? Not equipped well enough?

There’s got to be a reason for such a large discrepancy in the statistics of the wounded. We don’t see Australians four and a half times more likely to die in Afghanistan.
I’d argue the reasons (some of which have been mentioned) are:

 1. Canadian troops deployed in more danergous areas (ie. south with Americans and Brits).

 2. Relatively low casualty count, 46 dead over what? about 4 years? Any sudden jump in casualties (like a suicide bomber who just killed 4 Canadians) will sway the stats significantly.

I find the timing of the article you posted Lothario as being suspect. Its printed right after operation Medusa concludes ( Opinion & Reviews - Wall Street Journal - WSJ.com ).

Canadian casualties are up after a large offensive operation? Really? You don’t say…

Operation Medusa was an attempt to eliminate as many Taliban soldiers as possible before they head up into the mountains and hide for the winter, it was get them now or wait for spring.

What bugs me is they wait until Medusa is over, do the stats and produce a story. Are we going to hear the story if this following winter there is a decrease in casualties because operations Medusa was reasonably successful?

Finally, from the link I posted

We have higher casualties because we are doing more of the lifting. Lifting that some of our allies don’t appear willing to do.

Why the hell is France and Germany not more involved in the actual fighting?)

Because they are France and Germany.

They know how to receive assistance - but have yet to master the giving part.

Good post, towner, thank you.
