Not if everyone can grow their own. If that happens it will be worth about the same as a bag of leaves. If I was pot smoker and it ws legal to grow it myself I would because I think I could do it better than most people and if I grow it myselfI know there’s no chemicals or additives in it. I think it’s just another case of supply and demand, the demand may go up a little but the supply will explode. When the supply goes up the price goes down.

If we were allowed to grow our own, we would know exactly what we are smoking. The is no reason pot should be selling for more than gold

A solid one square meter hydrophonic system costs you at least 1000$ and needs constant care- I doubt that most marijuana users would not do better by just buying it-

Yeah, if they don’t get cock happy with the taxation, I could see it generating some income. I could really care less, the whole boat is on the brink of sinking.

Exactly, they aren’t some podunk farmer Johns folks. They are masters at their craft and they do it very well. Until the Chipee chopper is in the air and fucks everything up.

Exactly, and more people are going to start producing it at first. After the overall production of weed goes up the price is going to go down. How is the government gonna tax somthing that people can grow at home. Why would anyone pay say $15 for a dime bag ($5 in tax) from a government run weed store when they can buy it down the street for $10??

You do not need hydroponics to grow good weed, all you have to do is start with good seeds, sex your plants and harvest at the right time
You will also find a market that does not want to deal with all the crap going down on the street; I buy from a nice kid. I personally will pay more to guarantee that I will not have to shoot some one to protect myself
Also I would be willing to pay more to guarantee that he weed was not transported in some holding tank for sewage on a Cruise ship.

So do you think the kid you buy from is going to start charging you tax? Thats why legalizing weed isnt going to help California’s economy. Their will still be an untaxed “underground” economy for it.

That money is going right back to the Emerald Triangle. It may be under ground, but it is a thriving economy all the same.
If I thought the kid would be liable for any taxes I would be more than willing to compensate him for the taxes

Not everyone will grow it because it is difficult to do it right. Everyone could grow their own tomatoes too, why don’t they?
I am much better at doing my own job and prefer to purchase a quality product made by a master-craftsmen.
The fact that there would be many varieties available at relatively cheap prices is just a bonus.

You hit the nail on head. The prices will be cheap so their won’t be much to tax. Pot production would go up but I don;t think it would go up much. And do you think the people that produce it now are going to turn in their profits so they can get ass raped on tax? I lived in Cali for a year and lemme tell ya, a single guy with no kids making $40 K + a year get screwed on taxes. If I was making that in a year selling weed there’s no way I’d report my earnings to pay more taxes.

The individual economies arent going to be that much better off because the demand may go up a little but the since weed will be legal a few more people are going to produce it and over time get better at growing it. Hell, my wife read up on growing tomato’s, watermelon, pumpkin and a few other vegtables and she’s doing great!!! The knowledge is already out there for growing marijuana so I’m sure that over time (I think less than 2 years) the beginners will get good at it.
Once the atual amount of marijuana out there on the market goes up the price is going to down. It’s just not going to be very profitable and it won’t save California’s economy.
Not to get too far off subject, but industrial hemp would save our economy. There are about 25,000 industrial uses for it. We could build dozens of factories in each state, employing millions. If they legalized hemp I would jump all over being a hemp farmer, I already have the land.
What really rubs me the wrong way in all of this is that marijuana will not be legalized because “they” will finally acknowledge that the WOD is wrong, but just because this BS is no longer affordable without killing their host.
Just like they will finally accept gays in the military when they run out of cannon fodder.

By George, I think he has got it. If you could do that with all Drugs , you would put a lot of Criminals and terrorists out of business, I do no know the figures but I would be will to bet the marijuana tax could rival that of the alcohol tax, just my opinion
