Call of Duty: Black Ops

Because you never killed a man without stopping power.

I typically split it up between stopping power and cold blooded.

Tips:

  1. Don’t run AND shoot unless you absolutely have to.
  2. Drop to a knee or stay in the prone when you shoot.
  3. Put your back to the wall and being aiming from the end of a long hall
  4. If you’re shooting someone from a distance with a LMG or a Rifle, tap the Trigger. Do not squeeze and hold.
  5. If you’re forced to shoot at someone up close, HIP FIRE like a mother fucker. Aiming down the scope is time wasted.
  6. If you’re using a LMG, Sniper, or Semi automatic rifle, get to high ground and shoot from there.
  7. Be aware of your surroundings!

I’ve had multiple instances of my reticle being on a guys head and just missing. The game has been stuttering all day. Definitely waiting on a patch. I feel like someone is gently shaking my tv while I’m playing. Things will get a lot better as soon as Treyarch gets things running smoother (ps3).

Thanks for the tips mate.

Have you got any other tips/tricks to mention? Finding these very helpful.

Basically, I’ve only been playing MW2 online for 2-3 weeks. So I’m basically a complete novice at all CoD games.

I have no clue what a good perk is, or what gun combinations are good. Have no idea whether FMJ is any good (still haven’t got any!) and only found out two days ago that I could modify my killstreaks.

So … any tips for an ABSOLUTE newbie would be much appreciated.

Definitely! In MW2 you can get shot and more or less know where it came from. In this game you can get shot and have no clue what so ever.

"I see every one saying “Fuck Activision!” and "Activison sucks!’ Well I’m going to have to agree! Fuck you Activision for owning such awesome companies like Treyarch and IW that make such Awesome games like MW2 and Black Ops! You suck b/c I would rather play your games than do my homework, eat, sleep, fap or most everything else that I SHOULD be doing. Where do you get off making games that are so addictive that ppl are willing to spend over $500,000,000.00 in the first week to play “the same game as last year,” again.

Go to Hell Activison!"

My responce to all the fucking Trolls out there.

Alright - tis now desperate.

I just got a score of 1 - 16 on the Villa level …

Hah! I notice you added me - if I see you online, I’ll be sure to follow you and see if I can learn some tricks. If anything, when/if you get shot by someone, at least I’ll know where they’re shooting from.

PS. Have you seen the nuketown map? I love it. Those manakins are creepy - make me jump every time!

some things i noticed.

  1. definitely have to account for recoil now
  2. it doesn’t take more bullets to kill people, but the people’s hitzones are a lot smaller
  3. might be my settings but the enemies seem farther away? in mw2 it seemed like u can distinctively tell where people were.
  4. lvling up does take longer than mw2
  5. the RC car is fucking annoying as shit (at least the predator missile allowed u to run inside)
  6. the new perks are ok
  7. the new killstreaks seem easier to acquire (20 kill nuke, max killstreak award is 11)
  8. might be myself but the game seems more realistic

overall i like the new black ops, i’d prolli put it on par with mw2 not better, not worst, just different… it’ll take some getting used to but if u were godly at mw2 u should carry over well…

my buddy had a kill ratio of 1.76 in mw2 he’s prolli sitting at the same if not a little less. i had a kill ratio of 1.2 im prolli avg like .90 or so right now… recoil is a bitch…

Im decent but Im not that good. I’m not one of those ppl who just join a match and own everyone. But ya I got to play nuketown once so far, I play alot of Domination and Sabatoge but I’ll have to get in on some more TDM just for that map

What’s domination? Pure deathmatch?

I ask because I won’t get to play it for a couple of days!

I think my ratio is generally .50

At least I can say that my ratio was 3-1 in counterstrike. But that also implies that I had no life. Lose lose for me.

Domination is where there are 3 points on the map and your team earns points by holding any of the 3 points. First team to 200 points (I think) wins

Hey-

Black-ops is pretty good. I’ve only played the multi player, but I like it better then MW2. The levels seem better put together to me. Anyway I wasn’t having any problems when I played alone, but once I got in a group we had problems getting into a lobby. We found starting a party (XBOX) it was a lot easier. We did for some reason not all end up on the same team each game. Hopefully this is fixed.

Oh and maybe it’s just me, but I feel like it takes less to kill in regular team death match. I prefer hardcore anyway, but I haven’t been nearly as frustrated in this one so far. Also it is going to take longer to level up the perks I think. Some of the things you have to do to get the pro perk look pretty tough. I forget which perk it is, I think ghost, you have to let like 20 teammates get your dropped crates. What a pain! Oh and that damn RC car, great when you have it, but a pain in the ass when you don’t.

just my .02 cents. I’m on Xbox live with the same name as my T-Nation name if anyone’s down. I’ll be on probably most of today in a few hours.

One cool thing about this one is you can actually see where your shot land on your enemy. I can’t remember if it’s in the combat record or immediately after each game. It’s helped me already.

Oh and just run up some steps to avoid the RC car. Works most times

Stupid question, but how do you get an RC car? Is it a killstreak reward?

Another thing I’ve noticed. The “sniping system” was apparently changed. No more quick scoping. In about 12 hours of gameplay I’ve only been shot by a sniper once.

Also, the RC car is a killstreak reward at 3 kills…Obviously if you turn on the hardline perk you can make it at 2 kills…

I had a grand old time playing full retard mode with my husband and his brother (in NY). It is a good way to learn the maps without bruising your ego too much. We managed to get one game in online with all three of us before it started booting us out of the lobby. When I got offline and let hubby and brother play, they didn’t have any additional problems.

Don’t tell anyone, but I had fun.

Don’t you worry. Xbox live will crush your good time eventually.
