Building Your Own Computer

You don’t need to go online, and you don’t need a book. You are female, correct? Find the nearest available geek and ask him to teach you. He’ll fall all over himself to help. He might even buy the components for you!

I am female. But I do not know any computer geeks.

Its so easy like you wont believe. Building a comp is easier than putting up some Ikea shelving I swear. Everything goes in its slot, all screws show you exactly where to screw, its all idiot proof really.

Well… the actual physical act of building is easy, it’s getting to that part that’s hard (i.e. researching for the parts you need at the best prices, compatibility, reliability, noise levels, any catch, yadi yadi).

It’s a lot like sex, once you get the other person in the sack, it’s easy sailing, but it’s getting the other person in the sack that’s challenging. (Unless you are a hot girl in which case, you should have no problem doing anything… but if you are a guy, the statement holds 99.999999 of the time.)

I have the knowledge to build a PC from scratch merely by upgrading my desktop piece by piece. I just learned as I went along. I’ve installed new RAM, upgraded my processor, motherboard, video card, power source and I have gotten a new case. I’m going to get a bigger hard drive here pretty soon, too.

I don’t know if you have a desktop, or know someone who could donate an old one, but I would think doing an entire system from scratch might be overwhelming at first.

Well you should only have to ensure you get a good reputable company for all the parts. Geforce, asus etc. Make sure all your hardware is compatible and look up reviews for the best value etc. Shouldn’t take that long. I ordered all my stuff after about 2 hours of surfing online and had it built in about 3 hours after all the stuff came. I saved a couple of hundred quid easy on buying it all put together.
