Boot Camp- Mesa, AZ

I have been holding a boot camp in Mesa, AZ for a few months now. I though some of you might like to see some pics.

It’s moslty me and a few of my clients messing around with some heavy things.

Check it out, and let me know what you think.

Looks like a good time, definitely.

Is it a popular trend to call outdoor workouts with various elements “bootcamp?”

I mean, I’ve been through bootcamp, and what you guys are doing seems pretty fun.

Bootcamp isn’t fun.

And, you’re working out on soft grass.

Bootcamp workouts are on tarmac or concrete.

I might be splitting hairs, but these fitness “bootcamps,” though they look awesome and I’d like to do a few of them, seem like they should have a different title.

My two cents…

You know, I thought the same thing. I guess it’s become sort of a catch-all phrase for workouts done outside, with a variety of different activities. I was trying to call it other things for a little while when trying to explain it to people, but it seemed that as soon as I said bootcamp, it clicked. So, boot camp it is.

I think calling it a boot camp instead of an outdoor workout keeps the whiners and wimps away, so it works for that, too.

If it makes any difference, we do some of the events in a parking lot (truck pulls and tows), and we sometimes aren’t even having fun.

Is that the school that’s over by Power between Broadway and Main? I kind of recognize the background a little.

Nope, it’s Fitch Park in Mesa, on 8th St. between Mesa and Center.
