I figured people thought that either you pick physical or mental attributes, you cant have em both. Its not “fair” as they would say.
Ha. It’s always good breaking molds.
I’ve never been described as “Big” but I do get “stocky” because I’m short. I’m also a smoker though, and I do enjoy my massive amounts of beer on the weekend. You throw in a thick ass Jersey accent and the tendency to swear like a truck driver and you have me.
No one believes me when I tell them I’m a writer. They believe I like lifting and boxing and and sports, but not literature.
“I’m a writer.”
“Get the fuck out of here.”
“sigh… Swear to God man… What do you want me to quote? Tennyson? Shakespeare? Blake? Arnold? Something I wrote? You want to talk History? Religion? Politics?”
Honestly, the shitties part about being 23 is that no one my age is interested in anything of meaning. It’s all bullshit, like what happened in that Bret Michaels reality show, or some celebrity crap, or other useless shit. The older I get, the more I hope people start thinking a bit more about what’s important rather than what’s flashing in front of their faces…
She don’t believe in shootin stars, but she believe in shoes and cars…
I ended up lecturing a group of 3 Orthopedic doctors about HIIT, the Anabolic Diet and Supplementation about 3 months ago and it completely changed how they now talk to me. Most people think dumbass when they look at me.
(truth be told, they’re not all that wrong though)

sadly that line is the truth about society

Ha. That’s only if your born with both attributes. If you work your ass off to get it, it’s just as fair for them as sitting on your butt 8 hours a day watching TV. They just don’t have the balls to work at it. ![]()

I hear you completely man! Tennyson is my all-time favorite poet. “The Revenge” never fails to make me tear up. Shakespeare is an all-time favorite as well.
It’s Freaking sad how totally meaningless conversations are with anybody I meet in college. I’ve managed to carve out a niche of close friends that I can have intelligent conversations with, but 99/100 people I talk to here on campus or at the bars are wastes of brain power. Such a sad loss of potential. No wonder I’m still single…
I’m not yet big enough to offset my glasses.

This diverts kind of from the OPs discussion, but I never really understood why people seem to percieve Indians and Chinese as natural A grade students?
Funnily enough i’m Indian and did well in my A levels(its the equivalent of the US High school diploma I think) and read economics at university.

There’s usually a lot more pressure to perform well from the family than with westerners, not to mention a different definition of performing well. Many of my Indian friends’ parents would get very disappointed at anything less than an A equivalent, which for the ones who aren’t naturally that smart results in a lot more study, hard work and memorizing of things than the other students.

I was getting some cysts removed from inside my wrist a few years back and talked to the doctor about working out and supplementation. The anesthesiologist completely freaked out when I told him I did not want any thing beyond local anesthetics. They had to make him leave the room because he was so nervous about it. The doctor explained to him that “body builders are really tough. It will be fine.” Not that I am that big, or even close, but it was funny.
Before they closed the incision the doctor removed the screen and gave me a tour of my wrist. I learned two things: 1) when a nerve bundle is pulled so that it is outside your body, your toes sweat; 2) that female nurses might feel you up unnecessarily if they think you are drugged up–which was both flattering and a little wrong.

As if I didn’t need another reason to daydream about hot nurses. Thanks, man.

Totally agree with you man. I’m 24 and just returned to university to finish my BBA after 3 years or full time work. Holy fuck, it’s sad. Reminds me of highschool. No one has any interest in talking about ‘grown up’ things.
Luckily, we have the Nation.
I tell you what, my friends that never went to college are some of the smartest people I know, even booksmart-wise. It’s very strange.
But yea, I think that’s why I’ve only found two girls worth dating in my life. Their are lots of lookers, but man, finding a broad (or a dude, if you’re a chick) that can hold a conversation is so rare it’s sickening.
And I’m not one to kiss T-Nation’s ass at any time- it’s a damn website. However, there are many, many very smart people on here who contribute all of the time. It is reassuring that there are such people out there, it’s just sad that it takes the fuckin internet to get a good conversation.
If real life was like these boards, and the fucktards got run off after a month and left the smart people behind, then I think everyone would be much better off.
Yes, that’s the end of my angry misantropic rant.

lol should have seen that one coming.
LiveFromThe781 I don’t know about the USA but a lot of Indians who came to the UK were manual labourers. Yes it is true though a lot of migrants want their kids to do exceptionally well (I don’t think they keep that many goats in India by the way).
You know I met a really smart and sexy girl on my course, she seems to effortlessly get greater than 90% for most of her tests.
However she sounds like that really irritating women that Chandler used to date in that show ‘Friends’ and doesn’t know how to hold a conversation.
Aragorn you just have to get out there as much as possible you will find a few girls with looks and brains its just a matter of time.
P.S. Join some societies at uni.

I feel your pain. In Pittsburgh, we speak in abbreviations. Anytime I leave this city people always assume I am a complete retard because I don’t enunciate.

Lol. Thanks for the encouragement. They’re all taken though. I can count them on 1 hand, and they all were/are taken or I screwed up when I was young and awkward(fresh/soph). Besides, most girls don’t approach you if you look like a motorcycle-riding viking :). I guess don’t give off a cuddly vibe unless you already know me. hehe.
I used to be in societies and groups once upon a time. But all the stupid sycophants are there trying to “build their networks” or careers or sucking up to administration or whatever. It got to be more trouble than it was worth, and I like my free time to by ‘my’ time anyway. So now I enjoy my activities because they’re ‘mine’ but don’t meet as many people.
Thanks anyway buddy.

Anyway i’m sure their must be a few post grads coming in fresh from other schools for you to get busy with ![]()
