Biden = The New Hindenberg?

Not saying the US can’t fall into the tarpit. Centrist liberals wave that possibility away too quickly.

If the rise of conservative radio, tens of millions of Trump voters, and hundreds of millions of guns purchased don’t indicate a huge amount of the population are concerned about the US changing too rapidly/drastically - what does?

Would you offer some comparison or tangible objection to my OP.

Didn’t people panic buy guns before Obama assumed office and took them all away? What makes you think his “I own a shotgun” former VP would succeed where the Kenyan communist failed?

Biden isn’t an esteemed war hero that ran a de facto dictatorship fifteen years before becoming President, for starters.

And Hindenberg’s advisors convinced him to sign it because they saw Hitler as the only viable option to communism. I understand what you are getting at by comparing Biden to Hidenberg, if the idea is that an old, perhaps in cognitive decline, leader is susceptible to conceding power to a fringe group. The thing is, in Germany they did have communists; what’s the threat in the US that will require the far left to save us from?

The far left are the nazis of Germany.

The past and present and conservatives (their communists) are what they are trying to ‘save’ the country from, by destroying and transforming.

Edit l have apparently done a poor job conveying my hypothesis.

I think of the far left as maoists.

I don’t think any of these kooks, in whatever nation you find them, are trying to save that nation. It’s the opposite.

? Conservatives have dominated the radio for a LONG time. Limbaugh’s “rise” started while Reagan was in office.

Country has a lot of idiots. You can currently find them dismissing health professionals advice during a pandemic. In 2016 you could find them voting for a candidate who represented everything they said they were against. Not sure we should base much off what they think personally. I’m not sure what the point of this is? Dems are so crazy it’s making lunatics vote for Trump? Republicans need to own him. They are the fucking idiots who had 16 candidates and went with the one who had no plans, couldn’t tell you how he was going to do anything, and was addicted to conspiracy theories and TV rating.

Yeah we have a huge hard on over guns. Not sure that represents that Americans are scared about rapid change or anything though. Haven’t we had a huge hard on over guns for forever. And you know what sells even more guns. Anyone talking about the fact that it’s an issue that we have a shit ton of guns.

Yes that was my point.

Regarding antifa, blm, etc - l don’t think they are saving the nation. They are anarchists bent on destroying for who knows what reason.

I would see them as a rudimentary SA that is being used by someone with a plan to control the US. To what end? Unknown other that being in power. Since l can’t point out the part that we don’t know that we don’t know, l accept being called a rightwing conspiracy nut. Maybe, but there are many cases in history playing out in a similar way.

@H_factor
I’m not ignoring you but disagree with your assessment here. Just wanted to acknowledge l am still reading your posts. Besides, l just had to listen to my dad rail about Trump for 1/2 of the last 4 hours. What ya gonna do?:zipper_mouth_face:

All good. I didn’t expect we would agree. I’m the opposite I’m in Trump country big time. Only about 15 minutes from a guy who flew his flag at half mast the entire time Obama was in office.
