Best Movie Villain of All Time

Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit

I would like an honorable mention for the “captain” (martin strother) in cool hand luke.

I thought Amon Goeth (Ralph Fiennes) in Schindler’s List was a bit of a prick

Sauron from lord of the rings — world domination and all

and that no good scheming bitch queen from snow white.

A couple more obscure ones…

Don Lope de Aguirre (Klaus Kinskie) in Aguirre, the Wrath of God

Dr. Christian Szell (Laurence Olivier) in marathon man.

More mainstrem…

the alien from alien, frank booth from blue velvet, annie wilkes from misery, leather face from texas chainsaw massacre and john doe from seven.

By the way, Alex Delarge was just a messed up kid.

Hans Landa

And the badass colonel (or whatever rank) from Avatar.

I wanted to put Saddam first and I was thinking of the father from “Once were Warriors” but seemed to easy.

Ralph Fiennes-Schindlers List (Amon Goeth “NAZI”)
Kevin Spacey-Seven
Alan Rickman-Die Hard (Hans Gruber)
Kathy Bates-Misery
Tim Roth-Rob Roy
Bette Davis-Whatever Happend To Baby Jane
Michael Madsen-Reservoir Dogs (Mr. Blond)
Saddam Hussein-South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut

Hmmm…I don’t really consider Hannibal Lecter a villain. He’s in a class all by himself. As for my picks…let’s see…

Devil’s Rejects
Monique in Precious
Patrick Bateman

I’ll come up with a more detailed list soon…

Glad someone came through on Hans Gruber from Diehard.

A movie is only as good as the relationship between the good & bad guy. Nice when the bad guy is so bad you start rooting for him. In this case, for me it would be DeNiro’s character in HEAT

Oh yell yeah dude, that whole crew was badass.

i always root for the bad guy, does this make me a Psychopath?

More honorable mentions not already listed:

Doyle Lonnigan from The Sting
Hud (Paul Newman)
Angel Eyes from The Goood, the Bad and the Ugly

OH SHIT! How could I forget Keyzer Soze! Put him in the top ten.[/quote]

Hud is a great movie and Paul Newman is a great actor, but I wouldn’t call Hud a villian. He could be called an arsehole or spoiled brat or many other things but that doesn’t make him evil.

Gary Oldman in the Professional.

Gerard Butler’s char in Law Abiding Citizen is about the best example I can think of. I wanted him to 86 everyone in that movie.

The T-1000.

More iconic and cool than being a good bad guy character-wise though.

^^Gerard Butler’s character in Law Abiding Citizen was hardly a villain. He did what he felt needed to be done. Since the justice system failed him and his family, he would mete out revenge on all parties involved. I think it’s what a lot of people would do, if they had the means.

Back to my list…

Dutch Schultz in Hoodlum (played awesomely by Tim Roth)
Morgan Freeman in both Lucky Number Slevin and Wanted
Tilda Swinton in Chronicles of Narnia
Tom Cruise in Collateral
John Travolta/Nic Cage in Face/Off
Denzel Washington in Training Day
Jet Li in Lethal Weapon 4
Al Pacino in Scarface
Stellan Skarsgard in King Arthur
Mother Nature in Twister, Day After Tomorrow, Perfect Storm, etc…

I didn’t mention The Joker, as that goes without saying. Both Jack and Heath.

No krueger?

No bond villains?

How about another Nicholson, “Jack Torrence” from the shining.

Denzel and Tom were not villains in my opinion. They were simply doing their jobs.

Hell, robin williams makes a great bad guy. Both in 1 hour photo and insomnia (though I didn’t think they were great movies)

I skimmed it, and if they were there I missed it. However, my post was directed at the OPs original list.

Ben Foster’s character from “3:10 to Yuma” – Charlie Prince
