Caffeine (stimulants in general) raise blood pressure
Sure, I guess I just misinterpreted the previous message. Thought that they implied high blood pressure was making you susceptible to caffeine not being metabolized (probably not right word for what I am trying to say) quickly in your body.
I love my Chemex. Most mornings I end up using it. It does take extra time but boy is it worth it.
It really does. I’m still trying to find a way to justify the $350 Ottomatic system to make it a little easier, but I don’t need ANOTHER coffee appliance on my counter

never heard of sensitivity to caffeine,
but have heard of headaches from the caffeine raising the already high blood pressure
Also, had a friend that could not move his left arm after drinking about 20 cups of coffee once…his doctor told him this was caffeine overload
I don’t have a favorite coffee, but do prefer local coffee shops over the chains
Yikes, yeah not being able to move an arm would be scary.
That thing looks really cool but I would 100% accidentally drop the pitcher.
Yep…he thought it was his heart and got it checked
I usually stop at the Maverick (for you Intermountain West folks…) in town. For the Keurig, I like the San Francisco Coffee Company pods. They are expensive so I only order occasionally. I have some brand called “Basic Joe” at the moment. We also have a new Java Express. I have a gift card so I stop there. I am not to fancy, cream and sugar.
Here’s my Coffee hot take.
7-11 has the best gas station coffee…

I have that same fear with my Chemex. LOL
you have to be sure the leather thong on the wood is tied TIGHT

I have Menieres, so I have to stick with decaf. Drink Americano style.
I am partial to Kona. I get one bag a year, too expensive. An acquired taste, some think it is too harsh.
Peet’s Maj Dickson Blend is good strong decaf.
Tim Hortons decaf during hockey season. Goes with the Labatts beer.
Way back I worked in a restaurant that used Kona, it’s very good coffee.
ooh! thanks for the recs
I love “harsh”, so I might treat myself after I finish the school year.
Mum tried Kona when we were in hawaii and said it was high quality but the cafe we went to didn’t sell decaf or decaf beans
These seem like good affordable options
I think this is wrong to compare. It’s usually arabica vs robusta, which refers to the species/variety of plants the coffee beans come from. They have their own characteristics, which you can look up. So, when you say colombian coffee, it’s coffee from columbia (lol) which may be either arabica or robusta beans.
Anyway, I looove brazilian beans that are medium roast!
Thanks, as stupid as this sounds I had never thought of that or looked into it yet. Thanks for the info I have some research to do.
I wouldn’t say I’m a snob, but I do like Sumatra coffee and have enjoyed the brand Koffee Kult.
I couldn’t tell you the nuances between beans sourced around the world, farming practices or roasting procedure but their stuff always tastes fresh and the Sumatra is delicious.
I don’t know about the affordable part, but one of the best decafs I have splurged on is Volcanica Coffee. They have the best selection, low acid versions and real taste. A little pricey, but on Amazon you can get better price.
