…or just buy it in tablet form and down those and never taste a thing. Don’t even need a bottle or glass; just stop at the water fountain.
Tablets are a lot more expensive, that’s why I don’t use 'em.

Powders have their own uses over the pills…
http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2643560&cp&sr=1&origkw=bcaa&kw=bcaa&parentPage=search
how does that compare to the Biotest tabs for serving amount and size… how long it would last and the ratio difference of the 3 aminos?

Well, since you asked (and got me curious)…
–Biotest claims to use the same ratio as is found in muscle itself.
–GNC brand does not make that claim, and uses a different ratio.
If you do the math (assuming I haven’t screwed up),
–GNC gives you 300,000mg of BCAA (note that the remaining 36 grams mentioned on the label must be the maltodextrin)
–Biotest gives you 302,400 mg of BCAA (supposedly in a more beneficial ratio)
–GNC costs $36.99, or $29.59 with a Gold Card (which costs you an annual fee)
–Biotest costs $27.99 and all you have to do is sign up for their website
Seems to me that Biotest is cheaper, gives you more BCAAs, gives them in a ratio they claim is beneficial (the GNC label doesn’t seem to explain any reason for their choice of ratio), and the tablets can be taken anywhere and don’t require tasting them or mixing powder.
Of course, if you like to sprinkle your BCAA powder on/into other foods/drinks, then GNC or another powder brand is ready-made for that. I happen to prefer mine straight, between meals, to stave off catabolism. I make sure I’m getting protein every meal, and so don’t at this time feel a need for using BCAAs while eating food.
Clearly, there are various preferences in the use of BCAAs.
