Why do people have this urge of being sarcastic with valid concerns?
Computers advance daily, consoles are pretty much stuck in place. We all know that, but things like texture details can be also very good in console compared to their computer equivalents, while being inferior to “ultra settings” on a good machine. Again, we all know that.
But he said the console graphics just suck compared to computer ones (trailer), which is something I was interested to know. How good (or bad) they were compared to what we see in the trailer.
If the computer version graphics are “October 2011”, but the console ones are “August 2008”, I want to know. If BF3 graphics are not really much superior than MW2 (not even 3) or stuff like that, I WANT TO KNOW.

I’m not gamer by any stretch but does it matter how much better the graphics are? A 360 costs like $300 while a PC strong enough to play a game like Battlefield probably runs you somewhere north of $1000. But then again I don’t really know much about PCs. Is it possible to upgrade a PC you bought in 2009 to play the latest games?

Graphic Card does a lot, so yes, you can do that.
What about the processor, doesn’t that matter when you’re running a game?

Aw shucks princess, I was just implying that consoles are for those with limp wrists.
But that aside, I understand there are 1.5/2Gb hi-res texture packs for the XBox/PS3 to be copied to the HDD to give the graphics some polish. They shit all over MW2 imo.

Come on Mak, I’ll reserve final judgement for that texture pack, but the graphics currently aren’t as good as Black Ops, or MW2.
I have a PC that is fully capable, but I can’t be bothered to play games on it anymore. Nothing wrong with playing on a console.

Na, a $600 PC would do fine to run BF3, if you know how to build them yourself. You certainly have a point though.

I mean I use it for work only, and most of my friends play on consoles so I stick with them.
I’m not against it, it’s just easier for me to drop a disk into a console and play from that instead.

Got it. This might be a game worth making the exception for though…I wouldn’t even think about playing it on a 360 or ps3, even though I’ve turned into a BF3 fanboy…
