Battle at Kruger

Maybe I am missing something, or just not as enlightened as everyone else, but I really can’t understand why people would be rooting for the buffalo in this situation.

Yeah, a baby buffalo is spared, but those poor lions. They are going to go hungry now. Lions have to work so hard for a meal, it takes them all day to stalk and hunt and chase down their prey, and even then it is still a 50/50 chance that they will eat.

Buffalo don’t have to work nearly as hard for food, plus, the buffalo to lion ratio must be at least 100 to 1. The lion leads a hard life, the buffalo just eats and shits and gets eaten by lions.

I imagine people watching this video and thinking how great it is for that terrible, nasty, mean, evil lion getting it’s ass kicked by the slovenly, oafish, fat buffalo and thinking it may be a reflection of the way society is headed. Where the fat, slovenly, oafish drooling masses who are jealous of the “lions” of society, raise up and smack down these “predators” among them.

Today it is wrong to be “agressive” and taboo to display strength. Someone might get “offended” at your prowess. Sort of how you aren’t allowed to ask questions in class because it would offend the dumber people in class.

The lion was just doing what a lion does. The buffalo should have been eaten, not spared. ALl the lion was doing was trying to feed it’s family, or pack. There’s nothing wrong with that, but there is something wrong with the hard working lions being cheated out of a much deserved meal because of some stupid buffalo getting a lucky shot.

I think what was interesting about this video is that the buffalo were going to pass right by the lions, and seemed to dare the lions to do something about it. Of course, the lions were up to the challenge, but were then defeated by brazen buffalo. That’s not the usual case.

Usually, any animal that is potential prey to lions do not walk so close and do not temp them like this. It just seemed that the buffalo were determined to walk where they wanted to and not be intimidated by the lions.
