Batteground Walmart

I don’t shop there so I wouldn’t know. How do you know?

And you did a study that proves your assertion?

I do think that Walmart employees shouldn’t get treated any better than the workers who make the crap it sells. The same goes for the people who shop there.

Pitt,

My statement was not directed towards you personally, but people should have a realistic expectation working for a company like Walmart.

The very idea you’re talking about has bankrupt our state. 450,000 Union workers, someone has to pay for their benefits, wanna take a guess who ? Teachers here start at $70k, plus pension, plus free healthcare for life (FOR LIFE), and it comes at the expense of tax payers.

And what a great scam, “we need to raise taxes because the cost of living is going up.” Walmart can do the same thing, “we must raise our prices to meet the needs of our worker costs.”

People like Walmart because they have nearly everything in one store, all for low prices.

Pitt, look at the stupid behavior people show on Black Friday, camping out in their own filth just to save a buck.

I know it is convenient for the so called conservatives to blame the Unions for all of Cali’s WOES
but it is not an objective look at Cali. Cali is a large heavily populated state with immigration problems , with hyper inflated Real estate prices . It is a very complex place with a lot of complex problems . I probably would agree with a lot of your UNION issues on a line by line basis but the problems are MUCH deeper

This is fucking funny from a economist .Utterly fucking redickulus , This is something I expect from Zebadiah Asshatt

That is your rebuttal?

Care to explain where the logic fails? Or do you prefer to just call people names and hope that sticks?
So judging from this statement no one should ever want more money . I am sure you have never increased your prices because you do not want to perpetuate inflation ? I am sorry these three sentences are illogical and only a moron would subscribe to this train of thought , just my opinion

Don’t you understand Beans? If it wasn’t for Walmarts exploitation of its workers, they would all be CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies making millions a year. Jeez, haven’t you been keeping up on all the stories of Walmart’s press gangs kidnapping and forcing these poor people to work for wages far less than their experience and education should command in a fair market economy?
It’s called having enough self respect to not have other people support you . Definition of a straw man is exaggerating to the point of absurdity
Umm, no it’s not. I simply pointed out the absurdity that walmart workers deserve this cockamamie notion of a “living wage” because of all the supposed skills and education they possess. If only we lived in a country in which you had the freedom to find a job anywhere in that country that pays a salary commensurate with your skills and experience.

This is called an opinion , hope that helps

The ‘living wage’ + the modern notion of ‘poverty’ = Me strangling orphans.

Two, completely counter-productive notions IMO…makes me think back to an old lady I talked to not so long ago who me who told me how she once went through a period of about 2/3 months living almost exclusively on a mono-diet of parsnips!!!

I dare say, the arguably ‘exploited’ good peoples of Walmart may see the world a lil differently if they took a little time to consider just how much they DO have as opposed to little they likely would have had in the past.

No, you are looking at the situation wrong.

You can want and ask for more money until you run out of breath. You won’t get any until you add value and/or the market dictates you deserve more for your skill.

I’m pointing out that forcing the market’s hand by simply increasing wages doesn’t solve the problem. You are taking my example and not even remotely applying it to the facts of the situation. Hence why you don’t see what would happen, you aren’t thinking past step 1.

No, trying to force the market to put resources where it otherwise doesn’t want to is illogical. This is 101 level shit here man. Instead of looking for the cause of why the market determines these people as low wage earners, you want to just pretend the rest of the world doesn’t exist and force their wages to go up.

You’d be perfect for government office by the way. You think like the perfect statist here.

Calling me names doesn’t make you correct. But feel free to continue to do it if it makes you feel better.

In my opinion you fail to see that labor like any other commodity can be manipulated

I am sorry if you think I am calling you names , I just think the comments that you keep erasing are rediculous I would love to see a Wall Street Journal article beseeching all people not to make more money otherwise we will throw America into a period of Inflation .

I am just not used to deal with some one that has such a thin skin , Please accept my apology

You’ve really gone off the deep-end pittbulll if you think it’s appropriate for others to demand that the value of their work be inflated because it’s unfair that some people’s skills are more valued than others.
You also seem to be confusing the desire to make more money with actually earning it.
Giving people above and beyond what they deserve is charity, not employment, and you insult other people who have worked smarter, harder, longer, and have sacrificed more than those that haven’t been willing to do these things.

I’m sure you’ve heard or come across this before, if not, take a look

Don’t want to spoil the end for you, but when there’s no incentive to excel, people simply won’t.

I also think grossly unfair the largest private employer deflate the value of labor
