Iād say itās more of a sideways dinosaur head.
(Iāve been known to make money playing roots and fives too.)

True that. Itās not really a ābadā tatt, itās just a confusing one. No one knows what it is. And it does look like a sad face, depending on the angle.

Ladies and Gentleman, Iād like to welcome back from her month long hiatus, doing God knows what, probably something to do with that Ermine, someone near and dear to us all, with no further adoā¦Canadaās own - Ms M!!! (you had it coming:)
taking a bow Very funny bro:)
Btw, I guess you just never looked in the right place;)
I know I missed that PM.
Just so I contribute something to the thread - I love tattoos. Except the jailhouse looking onesā¦not really a fan of the barbed wire eitherā¦or the naked hula lady that my friends dad used to make dance on his tummy.
Hey, MsM, where yaā been?
[Sorry about the hijack - normal programming resumes]
Tats: I only have one myself but itās not one I would regret since itās not anyoneās name. I might get someoneās name under the right circumstances though.
the only regrets i can see myself having are using up all the good ink spots on my body and then coming up with even better tattoo ideas that i cant do anything with.
I know a kid that got his mom tattooed like a pin up nurse on his left arm, when he was a sophomore in high school.
I remember my defensive coach saying to him. I just want to hump your arm.
I on the other hand have the scripture of Phil 4:13 on the back of my arm down my tricep (including over the joint). The whole verse just not the address, I think addresses are gay and I am not a fan of them. The only time I use them is to tell them what I am referencing too.

Busy, busy:)
Someoneās name? Thatās pretty brave. That would be the ultimate flattery, I think.
The only name(s) Iāll be getting are that of my (distant future) children. I never see why people get their partners names, as most of those relationships seem prone to infidelity (from what Iāve seen).

Actually, I am sure anyone who learned to play an instrument through formal training knows what that is.

That is really bad ass Momma.

Tommy Lee has some pretty cool name tattoos. When his kids were little he had them draw their own name and then he had it tattooeād to his wrists. It looks awesome.

Well, yes. Youād have to date girls with the exactly same name after that.

OK. Valid point. Um. You wouldnāt necessarily as long as you were satisfied with getting laid once per girl. Itās a little restrictive but not necessarily a bad thing.

Depends on the girl. Most girls donāt care or donāt even think about it. And Iām not sure I would want to be with a girl that is that bothered by something like that. Itās not like we all havenāt been in relationships before.

Granted. I think that, the first time a girl sees that tattoo, you are going to be barraged with questions about who Becky or Susan was no matter how she feels about relationships. Itās going to take some time after that.
Dirty_Bulk wrote:
It never fails. The other day I see a some girl I know showing her friends the new ink she got on the back of her neck. She just HAS to show everyone, so I too get a glance at the highly visible, pink-heart embellished design. Yeah, it was one of āthoseā tattoos.
Worse yet, every other girl interjects with a story about the design sheās getting in two weeks that includes a butterfly, dolphin, fish, or rainbow stars. I canāt judge what these mean for every single person, but I canāt help but think that thereās not a lot of depth behind them.
Every one of these girls is 18-20, and is probably paying for the tat with daddyās cash. Itās not just the young girls either. Every other 20 something guy I know has a nautical star or decorative cross somewhere on their body. Whenever the subject of tattoos comes up, I have to hear someone say, word for word, āyeah Iām definitely getting a tattoo, but I donāt know where or what itāll be.ā I wish I was kidding.
You can do whatever you want with your body, but I canāt understand why people take getting ink so lightly. Iāve met very few tattooed people that had no regret whatsoever for getting their designs. Even those I know as young as 20 regret what they got done as little as a year before.
Still, tattoos fascinate me, and I think good ones (however you want to define that) are great. However, I donāt really ever see good tattoos. I see a lot of what I cynically view as meaningless, regretful stuff done in the pursuit of a fashion statement.
To those that do have tattoos, what are they, why did you get them, and do you have any regret of them? Would you get them again? I can never ask people I know these things because I respect that they might be too personal, or they regret getting them and donāt want to discuss them.
Iām one of your ātwenty-something guys with a crossā. Decorative? Fuck you.
Who the hell are you to judge what someone puts on themselves? Meaningless? When was the last time you walked in their shoes? This is one of the most arrogant dickheaded things Iāve ever read.
My tattoo looks like the picture, not exactly but close. You want a history? You want to know about my personal battles with Catholicism and whether or not thereās a god, because you stopped believing when everyone you knew started dying?
You know about being Irish and having the weight of history on you every time you say outloud you think thereās no God? Did you get dragged to the St. pattyās day parade every year, and hear about how the Protestants fucked up Ireland for a thousand years?
Did you ever read āA Portrait of the Artist as a Young Manā and think that Joyce was writing about you? Did it take you your life to finally come back around to not thinking that the Catholic church was a hideous, worthless institution, and then you got the celtic cross put on you, and you watch the blood drip out of the middle of it and you remember why you did it?
āDecorativeā? Fuck you.
