I tried searching other topics about knee pain but I couldn’t find one that described quite the pain I had (well, I read two pages of topics and got impatient).
I get this pain on the side and back of my right knee when deadlifting or squatting with load (I tried bodyweight squatting and didn’t notice anything). At first I thought it might be bad form but I also get the pain whenever I full contract my calf muscle. Any idea on what it may be?
ooo sounds like chondromalecia to lil ol runner me!!
Type in “chondromalecia” and “patellofemoral pain syndrome”. Or just plain runner’s knee will do. That sore-when-you-tighten-your-calf is classic runner’s knee.
Did you recently start going heavier than usual or adding more cardio or anything like that?
I’ve got a version of this, from overuse in running. It got a lot better when I worked on stablizing the vastus medialis.
