I totally agree with Cthulhu and Velvet Revolver on everything they said.
I forgot to mention that some vaccines are necessary (like the Polio one that VR mentioned). Also, there is one or two more that come to mind, but can’t think of the exact name of them (or abbreviations).
Also, not all doctors are bad. There are doctors that don’t use drugs and surgery to cure certain diseases. But, the typical clinics around town have doctors that are trained to prescribe drugs and cut people open. No natural remedies are mentioned to help cure something.
On the other hand, if I fall off a ladder and my leg is busted in half, you can bet that I’ll be in the emergency room.

You’re 100% right. If I get cut off my hand doing something stupid, rush me down to the emergency room and use all the drugs and surgery on me you want.
But drugs and surgery isn’t going to cure or prevent cancer/disease.I totally agree with everything you both say and I’m glad to see some smart people who don’t rely on the drug companies for their good health(not saying that they do bring you good health because they don’t).
In general, I think it’s not the harm additives and preservatives add to the food but the nutrients they take away. Everything from fruit to meat is malnutritioned and refined. It’s a very effective way to make more profit by using less land and investments on producing the food. I think the FDA and USDA are so useless it’s pathetic.
Why are we banning steroids or, for that matter coke or heroin? People know those are harmful. If you make them available most will avoid them anyway. But with food the overwhelming majority has no idea how refined and empty food has become and so the market is tremendous. Who would ever want to give it up?

Believe it or not, food addtives and preservatives are harmful and have been linked to major health problems like ADD,etc…While our bodies/livers can take them in smal amounts,we should try to avoid as many as we can.Well, the difference is the FDA get away with murder. Our government has the balls to go on about weed and coke killing kids today.Well, drugs like vioxx kills just as many people(maybe even more) than weed or coke does.I believe half of the drugs actually give peope health problems(and that is a fact). Most weaken your immune system,or your liver,or your heart. My cousin has a weak liver from using their pathetic, deadly drugs.

Uh…What studies were these? I hope you are just making up numbers…
Anyhow, I agree with just about everything posted so far. I think since we (bodybuilders, powerlifters, athletes, etc) eat so much more than your average person, that we need to be even more careful about toxins. And the FDA does seem to be boderline criminal…
I also buy organic because I would rather have my money go to smaller farms, where they practice sustainable agriculture (and are literally down the road or at least in your state/region). The big agri-business companies are VERY sketchy, at best, and I cringe whenever I am in a pinch and have to buy big brand name crap. I just picture some evil old rich bastard laughing all the way to the bank.
