Are You For Scuba?

I have my scuba cert. I’ve been to Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba, Cozumel, Belize, Turks and Caicos,Maui, local ravines, great lakes…

Bonaire was my favorite. Nearly everything worth seeing was in 60’ or less of water, shore diving was easy and plentiful, and the underwater diversity was tremendous.

I did my first night dive in Bonaire. The dive master neglected to tell us that there was a tarpon that would follow divers around and use the light of our flashlights to spot bait fish. I was in the water for about 7 minutes when I sensed this disturbance over my shoulder then saw a huge flash in front of me as the tarpon came in over me and grabbed a fish that was about 10’ in front of me. I sucked down the rest of my tank in about 3 minutes.

HAHA!

Has anyone dove the living seas at epcot before? As funny as it sounds, still one of my favorite dives ever.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that. Especially that cenote shit. Fuuuuuuuuuck that. I’m a land animal. I haven’t been designed to be in the water like that for like a billion years. The ocean scares the shit out of me. Crazy motherfuckers. [/quote]

This is why insurance companies will not cover your death with their life insurance if you go scuba diving. You are not ment to live underwater so if something goes wrong you are screwed. If you are going to get Life Insurance make sure to get it before going scuba diving because you will not get it if you do.

Been diving for about 17 years, done lots of dives and I love it, cenotes in Mexico were awsome as was shark diving in the red sea 3 big hammerheads, 1 reef shark and a nurse on the bottom was one hell of a dive!
Recomend the Thistlegorm to anyone who fancies making the trip to Egypt, great few dives to be done on that wreck.

Started my dive master at 18, some reason I never finished it and really wish I had because its hard to to find the time to dive these days let alone train and teach.

Just did my advanced open water last fall in Thailand, done Fiji, Mexico, and Philippines. I want to do this one out in the Philippines where you dive on a ghost fleet of ships that were sunk during WWII. SCUBA is an amazing way to spend some time on vacations and see things that will blow your mind.

It is a great dive, I can attest to it. Man i miss those days.

the ghost fleet sounds amazing. I did a few wreck dives, they give me the creeps but are awesome.

Im heading to Bermuda this summer so definitely going to see if there is good diving there

Learned how to dive in Honduras. Got my divemaster in Colombia. Spent some time diving in the Venezuela, the Galapagos, Mexico, Bonaire, and Fiji. I love being underwater. All of it is good.

Where I live now it would be mostly cold water diving and I have no desire to dive with a dry suit. I hate being cold.

I’m right there with ya. Fuck going scuba diving in caves, seriously. Funny thing is I absolutely love watching Shark Week and movies to do with underwater diving / swimming. The Abyss, And Sanctum come to mind right away. But yeah, me actually get IN there? Ha, nope!

I applaud you guys though, I think it takes a certain kind of bravery and calmness (?) to be able to do that safely.

It really isnt all that dangerous. Most of the certification process itself is just safety courses. The biggest danger really is decompression sickness(the bends) or oxygen toxicity for Nitrox divers which can be easily avoided with proper planned dives and even the most basic dive computers.

The only real and common danger of diving is to your wallet.

Heading down to Key Largo tomorrow for a long weekend of diving. Just got a GoPro so ill hopefuly be able to get some good vids.

Just make sure the boat stays.

I’m a diver here in beautiful NW Ohio, I only dive dry around here. But I love it. Diving in 35-40F degree water is certainly something not many people have done or want to do!

And white star. Gilboa is about an hour fifteen and white star is about an hour maybe slighter under from my house

No, but I love that movie! Hilarious!

For all you scuba folks, this looked pretty cool
