Anyone Tried Acunpuncture?

I’ve been tired for the few past month, I’d like to get more of my life but I rarely feel rested enough. I might try acupuncture to see if it helps. Anyone ever tried that??

I think it’s 90% bullshit.

I had knee pain a few years ago for a day or tow and my girlfriend insisted I try acupuncture and the guy stuck about 7 or 8 around my knee.

The funny thing is that while they were in I tried to move my foot and I couldn’t, it was like the nerves were cut off. No pain, just it seemed like I couldn’t move my foot.

The knee pain also stopped, but maybe it was only going to last a day anyway, as I said it only started the day before and I have no history of knee pain.
It may have been like rebooting a computer or something, what he did.

It works but it might not be noticeable right away. Or you try to figure out what your body is trying to tell you. I spent an assload of money on various treatments and while they did help, there wasn’t a big change until I got some personal boundaries and got rid of some people that were making me miserable.

IMO, massage worked the best for me as far as not being tired all the time.

I find deep tissue electro acupuncture [run a current through your muscles. like massage on steroids] works like a wonder for me to recover and rehab injuries. But the thing with acupuncture, like chiro or nutrition etc is that the quality is in the practitioner. a good accu guy is great while a poor one will likely leave you worse off.

And that is speaking about scientifically significant acupuncture, mos tof the chinese shit is not worth much. At best they burn out the nerve to stop the pain. not ideal for lifters.

For tiredness tho? try sleeping more, eating more, training smarter, play with yourself less, get up at the same time everyday, drink COFFEE!!

So…you went to an acupuncturist when you had knee pain, he put needles in your knee which stopped the pain, and you think acupuncture is about 90% bullshit. You sound like one hell of an appreciative person.

I’ve had acupuncture for allergies and for bell’s palsy, and I was satisfied with the results both times. You gotta go to someone who knows what they’re doing though, and that’s a bit difficult unless you’re pretty wired into the community. I have no idea whether or not anyone specializes in making people feel more energized, but that sort of thing seems really open to hucksters and charlatans.

I used it for lower back pain (one session, eight months ago) and am back to jogging and light strength training.

You should think more logically, as it was entirely possible that this pain would’ve gone away anyway.
As lifters we must get all kinds of small aches and pains that can come and go.
I live in Taiwan and sometimes I’ll get a cold and my girlfriend will give me some Chinese medicine that will make my cold go away in about 2 weeks. Well guess what, all colds go away in 2 weeks.
Spock out.

I thought of that. I still don’t see how you can take this story and claim that 90% of acupuncture is bullshit. At the very least, your story is weak support that acupuncture works.
