That’s a very nice bike indeed. It’s an odd company that seemed to make a lot more sense when the Japanese couldn’t build a good handling bike.

I fell in love with Bimota’s in the eighties when they were shoehorning GPZ motors in them.

I’ve got a 2011 Dorsoduro 1200. This pic is actually the 2012. It’s a hell of a lot of fun on short rides, the furthest I’ve been was 4 hours pretty much straight, which I felt the next day. On the plus side the gas tank is only three gallons, so you have to get off and stretch your legs regularly anyway.
I like those bikes a lot. They seem both practical and fun at the same time. I haven’t seen that many on the road here though. But there’s not too many Apes in general.

Kawi could always make stomping motors but their chassis sucked. In some ways it’s too bad they started putting Ducati motors in their bikes. I think they would be better served with a Japanese motor or even a Rotax.

I prefer the aprilla’s over the ducati’s. That is just my opinion. The aprillia’s seem to not break down as much.
I’ve owned three Ducs and only one didn’t give me trouble. This bike is light years away from the Ducs I’ve owned though.

Speaking of sixteen lol. Good grief was a hideous bike, I still see it every day pulling into my garage. It’s not really worth fixing but it’s not really taking up a lot of room either so I’ve kept it.
That bike is definitely worth fixing. That’s awesome.

Nice 2 into 1 Pipes, Sissy Bar & saddle bags on a Cross Bones

Hard Bags on a Cross Bones that don’t immediately make me want to puke.

Or if you change your mind and want to F up your bike you could go this route.

#2 F up

If I was to ever pony up the cash for a Harley this would be it. That thing would rip.

The magic doesn’t start till the 2:00 mark. The one Mike Hailwood raced is worth cajillions. Ridiculously loud.

Nice bike, my Buell x1 was the first production bike from Harley that had 100hp out put, 85 at rear wheel, it is a great ride, handles well and just rips around corners, beautiful power spread, whenever I get off it I have the biggest smile, fits in with all riders, a very underated motorbike.

A Buell, most reviews reports it as Harley Davidson on steroids, great fun.

Love to Ride!!! This pic is on the “Tale of the Dragon”, a must ride for anyone who loves the twisties. 318 curves in 11 miles. Yes, those are sparks!!!

Great thread…

Finally getting my bike licence and learning to ride. During my 2wk vacation in May I’m taking the Harley safe rider class, thereafter I think I’ll start w/ a suzuki 50c —Boulevard is a big frame 800cc bike.

Does this seem like a good bike to start with?

Any insight, tips, ideologies about riding feel free to let em’ rip. So far I know to ride as if others cannot see me, e.g. be highly visible, watch the cages…

anything else, pearls of wisdom maybe?

Yes, it’s a Harley! 2010 Ultra Classic CVO and yes you can lean an Ultra that far…but no farther… Has a race tuned 110 with Vance & Hines monster ovals.

The class you are taking is the best place to start. I recommend it even for seasoned riders.

My winter project…2005 Road King.

Here’s a great article on that Honda. There’s also a vid where they actually start it indoors. Just magical.

I tested a couple of Buells. They had a great chassis but I can’t wrap my head around that motor. Not only does it want to be everywhere at once it hits redline well before I’m ready for it. It’s a tough sportbike to ride for that reason but it handles exceptionally well.
