All the Portuguese immigrants would watch it, except they’ll all be out fishing that day
Here’s what I think is funny-
Ever since I was a kid they (being the media) have been trying to shove soccer down our (being Americans) throats. Sure, there are some kids who play soccer, and there are some avid fans, but we (being Americans) just aren’t as passionate about it. Even when the World Cup rolls around we could really give a shit. I’ve never had a conversation with a friend about soccer and I have a few friends who are quite good at soccer (played in college/traveled to the UK to play). They don’t talk about it.
Sure, it’s a little more main stream than it used to be but it seems to be a phase that little kids go through until they discover football or baseball. Shit, even hockey (in the US mind you, not Canada) is more popular (I personally love hockey and have been playing it since I was a kid). Soccer’s like the marijuana of sports in America. It’s a gateway sport. It leads to better, more kick ass sports. It’s a sport we play when we’re 6-10 to learn to run and improve our coordination and motor skills so we can be more kick ass at sports that matter.
And whenever some European decides to try to convince us that it’s the greatest sport in the world and yada yada yada and we tell them that, no, we don’t think so, they get all pissed about it and begin flinging insults. Why? Why do you care that we don’t like soccer as much as you? Do you like our football? Do you like baseball? No? Do we care? Not at all. So, fuck off with your perception that soccer is great. It’s not. It’s just ok. You’re basically playing kick the can with a ball. Congrats. Now excuse me, I’m going to watch a guy pass around a little rubber biscuit and try to get it past a big guy wearing big pads into a small net.
Soccer is what kids that can’t hit a curve-ball play.
Can’t see how they will get 60k people to watch a soccer game in Massachusetts. I just don’t see it. Not sure what the numbers are for Revolution games, but unless, as someone else mentioned, they hand out a whole mess of tourist visas, there is not enough people in this area that would go to see it. I’ve tried to watch it on TV before and it’s like watching paint dry.

soccer, we think it is a big deal
We have been kicking this ball around, you know playing soccer, since you been boning pocahontas
you will see 60,000 people in the stadium, and something about an uncle touching him
Jack is expressing his desire to blow ARod.
You sure do have a way with words. ![]()
Can anyone translate this for me?
Haha Beans you’re such a massive wankmaster
You dafties are seriously missing the point
This game will attract Scottish ex pats from all over the states. The plastic paddy brigade will also be in full swing. Throw in some soccer loving yanks and you will have a stadium full to the rafters.
This game is steeped in religious and political history.
We are the people.
wankmaster…
