Waste of time. It’s all in a protein shake. Why buy the components of a protein shake separately.
Competitive absorbtion.

OP: glutamine has value in healing the gut of inflammation as well as promoting cellular hydration, which is pro-anabolic.

Do you mean that the glutamine will not be absorbed from a protein shake?
Some or even most may be absorbed, but some (or even most, depending) will not be absorbed, because the other aminos/peptides in the shake will be occupying the transport units that translocate amnos accros the gut wall.

Interesting. A few more questions if you don’t mind:

1.Under what conditions will the glutamine in a protein shake fail to be adequately absorbed?

2.What kind of dosages do you advise for glutamine? I’ve found people recommending anything from 5g grams to 80 grams a day.

3.Do you think glutamine can compensate for BCAAs? I’ve heard that if you are taking glutamine then you may not need to supplement with BCAAs.

Thanks very much.
