Cyp and gels are generic maybe? $10 a month for me.
Yes in the morning. Not currently using any testosterone thought.
Possible cost and/or lack of availability ?
By the way, how is it going with you ?
Insurance is covering Jatenzo, otherwise it would be $800-$1200 per month.
My levels dropped to 276 after two months, I’m on 198mg (previous 158mg) and this dosage feels inadequate, but better than before.
I’m do for another test soon and if hematocrit and hemoglobin are still elevated, I will need the okay from a hematologist to maintain higher levels.
The higher hematocrit and hemoglobin are being tolerated by my doctors and aren’t reducing my dosage because uncontrolled diabetes is not acceptable.
How many hours after application in the morning should I get labs drawn to get an accurate reading?
I have heard it should be 4 hours after cream application for best testing
I wouldn’t think peak or trough would be optimal for getting a mean reading to assess proper dosage.
Is the insulin responsible for Hematocrit and hemoglobin on the high side ? Or T alone?
I was expecting Jatenzo to provide better serum levels, tbh. Otherwise doesn´t seem to be an “real” alternative to Andriol. Is It ?
The recommended starting dose for Jatenzo is 237mg twice a day, my doctor started me out on the lowest dose of 158 which in the beginning was giving me good numbers.
I think my body started metabolizing more T as time went on.
I have to supplement iron on TRT, 112mg daily. My hct numbers were still on the high side even with my Total T at 450 ng/dL, 52% when iron deficient.
Ok, got it now. I was just curious about the oral form and its effectiveness.
My ferritin is always on the high normal of the range. Close to 270.
Gel more than tripled my numbers but that was two pumps per shoulder. Just expensive to do long term.
Yeah, my test was under 300. One pump has me at 428 but DHT is off the charts. 3 to 4 pumps seems to be the sweet spot for most people I’ve talked to. Gotta get this DHT down tho.
i always find the comments regarding applying the gel so over exagerated. it is no different than applying sanitizer and dries in a minute
I gotta say, making an account 10 years ago just to respond to a 4 year old post is some real sleeper agent stuff right there.
I never understand how these antiquated posts are resurrected. Did someone search the topic?![]()
Been on Androgel which was prescribed by my urologist. I had urgent urination for the initial visit. He put me on Androgel and I am not sure I feel anything. I have a feeling you do notice a difference with injections. He was happy to just be above the minimum levels. He was conservative and was suspicious of anyone asking him to get higher levels. He would say why don’t you go to these clinics you hear on the radio
Yes, some people do well on androgel. You often don’t hear them speak out on forums because they are given a simple androgel prescription, do fine and don’t look elsewhere… as a matter of fact I’d argue the vast majority of TRT patients around the world outside of the USA are on something like androgel
Androgel was approved for treatment of hypogonadism at the end of the day and at the high end dose (10mg/day) median testosterone levels were around 700ng/dl if I recall correctly… 700 as an average is a perfectly normal level (say 900 peak 500 nadir over 24 hours)
