"...and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands."

A point I never made, but it sure makes for a dramatic strawman to argue against in your own mind, doesn’t it?

Meanwhile, you argue against reasonable concerns at every turn, in that thread and in this thread.

You’re being disingenuous. You have some need to come off as Mr. Texas badass and include condescending remarks that reply to nothing anyone has said. No one cares if trannies drink Bud Lite but you insinuated that posters were upset about that and were being snowflakes. Here’s a hint: no one cares that you’re from Texas. You probably have just as many pussies as New York or California. If you want to be edgy go find a forum for teenaged virgins. No one here is impressed.

He’s a Texas edgelord.

Jason Blahahaha?

Your framing betrays a great ignorance of human history. It has not be a long steady climb up. It is a story of brief patches of extraordinary peace, prosperity, and technological advancement surrounded by vast stretches of ruin.

The people who live in the good times are fat, happy and oblivious, and assume that their condition is the new normal.

People often (especially on this forum) talk about how “old people always talk about how the new generation is going to shit”, and how this phenomenon goes back to Socrates. Well, at the time Plato was writting Athens was going to shit, and their empire was pretty much over.

By contrast, the old Athenian men weren’t complaining about the youth after the battle of Salamis.

10 years after Plato died, the Macedonians conquered Greece.

“History repeating itself” is probably a valid idea.

Hamas is using violence to try and stop an historic Israeli peace-agreement, just like in the 90s.

And if you believe the news, Pres Biden’s relations with Iran have helped to cause instability in the Middle East. Just like Pres Obama’s relations with Iran caused turmoil in the Middle East.

Hamas isn’t just using violence. I’ve used violence before. Lots of good people have, for lots of good reasons. For all of our faults as a nation, even our initiations of violence have been restrained and rooted in good faith, at least when you compare us to history. We don’t, for instance, get a day off from work to celebrate the My Lai massacre.

Nazi Germany tried to obscure their greatest atrocities. No propaganda films were released to an international audience highlighting their barbaric treatment of fellow humans. They knew at a gut level that it was really bad. They still went along with it, but there was a deep sense of shame, and this is reflected in how German society has evolved since then.

Hamas and the people who provide support to them are worse than the Nazis of 1920’s-1940’s Germany.

Yeah. The depth of this type of depravity is really astounding.

And we let people who think exactly how members of Hamas think into this country. We even elected some of them to serve in Congress. Hopefully, as a result of her response to what is going on, that animal Talib will be on the way out. Maybe it’s wishful thinking. Sweden and Denmark are now trying to rid themselves of the cavemen they welcomed in.

You skipped Trump there…oh, wait.

And I am not even a Trump guy, far from it.

This current crop is evil incarnate, they’re the ones actually “advertising” it on social media.

Pres Trump knew the best option was to touch the sphere. His Middle East resume is looking Pretty Strong now.

Biden mocked for ‘disturbing’ smile after ignoring question about Trump being ‘political prisoner’ (msn.com)

Our march away from the broad, sunlit uplands continues. This sham trial was absolutely disgraceful and POTUS follows it up with this. The smirk on the elder abuse victim occupying the White House says it all.

Sentencing is a few days before the Republican National Convention.

Buckle up.
