I forgot all about the fact that you can trust the government when it comes to our liberties.

Sorry.
Do you really believe there will be a court martial if the words “Praise the Lord Jesus Christ” are uttered from a service member?
No, he/she will be NJP’d.
Yea I figured thats how it would be handled… Someone getting office hours for that on boat would be pissed…

Why we should distrust the government:

"The government that has come about by self-rule derives its powers from the consent of the governed. Because the tyranny of the majority can be as dangerous to freedom as the tyranny of a madman, all use of governmental power should be challenged and questioned.

Government is essentially the negation of liberty.

If we fail to challenge government at every turn, there will be no liberty remaining for us to defend when the government tries to negate it."

I agree with your generally distrust of government. I just don’t see service personnel facing disciplinary action for discussing religion.

I’m going to have to retract my previous statement. I suppose ANYTHING is possible…

A sad day indeed.

The same kind of guy who orders another man to hold an umbrella for him.

“The AUMF is now nearly twelve years old. The Afghan War is coming to an end. Core Al Qaeda is a shell of its former self,” Obama said. "Unless we discipline our thinking our definitions, our actions, we may be drawn into more wars we don’t need to fight, or continue to grant presidents unbound powers more suited for traditional armed conflicts between nation states.

Wow, I’m actually speechless. President Obama wants to curb executive power. Also, as much as I respect John McCain for his service, he needs to retire.

Eric Holder signed off on the search warrant aimed at James Rosen…

This is news?

His Daddy practically served as Hitler’s agent against Britain while masquerading as the American Ambassador. When JKF’s books were ghostwritten (by Ted Sorenson, among others) his diaries were carefully expurgated of the families’ pro-Hitler, pro-Mussolini and anti-semitic sympathies.

Find and read “A Man Called Intrepid”, Push. FDR had to call Joe in and threatened him with a charge of Treason over the Nazi support from what I remember. The book is a excellent read on the clandestine activities leadin up to and during WW2.
