Here’s one for ya with an Irish twist!

A Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman walk into a pub. They proceed to each buy a pint of Guinness. Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage three flies landed in each of their pints, and were stuck in the thick head.

The Englishman pushed his beer away from him in disgust. The Scotsman fished the offending fly out of his beer and continued drinking it as if nothing had happened. The Irishman too, picked the fly out of his drink, held it out over the beer and then started yelling, “SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT YOU BASTARD!!!”

Worzel, stay dry my friend. LOL[/quote]

Are you insinuating that the Irish are stingy tight fisted misers??? LOL

Are you a dumb American or smart American.
What is your name.
Where do you live.
How old are you.
Are you a girl or boy.
What school do you go to.
What was the first question I asked you.

Someone once said to me “what do you call an intelligent American…a Canadian” LOL

P.S. Sorry Canada

Mary had three children…

one called PAT!
one called MAT!
one called TAT!

she put PAT on the right TIT and she put MAT on the left TIT but she had no TIT for TAT!

Did you ask a question? Damn!! I guess I’m a dumb American.

An Australian perspective: The women in Canada are hotter and put out (maybe they just like Aussies more). Therefore Canada Rocks the socks of the USA.

Only if you think vroom can aim.

From what I can gather the sitation goes something like this.

Most Americans don’t really hate Canada at all. I am sure there is plenty of resentment b/c canada frequently disagrees with american policy (softwood lumber, iraq, fish, oil, immigration, terrorism, borders etc).

There is actually a pretty serious anti-american sentiment amongst canadians and canadian politicians. Quite a few canadian politicians have been caught talking smack about the US and its government. From what I can tell there are a few reasons for the anti-americanism in canada.

Anger: Many canadians are just angry with the american government. The power difference b/w the two countries means that the US can, and does, simply back out of deals and ignore NAFTA ruilings (softwood lumber particularly). Many also find US foreign policy to be ethically wrong, racist, oppressive, illegal etc (canada isn’t much better but our crimes are far better hidden).

Envy: I am pretty sure that, on at least some level, canadians are jealous of americans. I don’t think this jealousy has much to do with money/power. I do think the jealousy is about culture. Canadian culture is weak, dispersed, and very hard to define. The US is overrun with symbols of national identity and canadians (exempting first nations and people from quebec) really have very little along those lines. Canadians spend all their time watching american tv and usually know more about american politics than they do canadian. So they make stupid beer commercials that place the canadian sense of self as being “not american”. Understandably that envy frequently manifests as resentment.

lasty (sorry this is so long) there is…
Fear: I think a fear of america is the biggest cause of anti-american sentiment in canada (especially amongst politicans and the politically aware). The US has a population, economy, and military that all vastly outstrip their canadian equivilents. Someone mentioned earlier the idea of manifest destiny and I do think that is a very important point. When the american government (ANY administration) decides it requires something (land, water, oil, timber, saftey, power) to maintain the “American Way of Life” little will stop them from obtaining it. What we will see in the next couple decades is that sense of Right manifesting itself on the Canadian people. As china moves to control middle eastern oil the US will come to rely more heavily on canadian sources (tar sands particularly) and if canada stops putting out…there will be big trouble. Global warming will cause similar issues with water (many US aquifers will be dry in a decade or two). One way or another Canada’s sovereignty will be comprimised by american resource demand, its inevitable if the US wants be at all competetive with China.

Sorry that turned out much longer than I had anticipated. I really do think those things are the source of anti-americanism in canada. I am not necessarily saying I agree with them, that is just how things are perceived this side of the border.

disclaimer This is NOT a universal stance in Canada. Many canadians don’t give a crap about the US or are quite fond of it. There are even a chunk of Canadians who want the US to annex Canada.

That’s insightful, but what is your opinion of American’s… Your jealous of our warm weather. You cannot deny this.

First off, yes I am Canadian. On my Dads side, I have some american ancestry. I also have an aunt who was born in Canada, married an American, now resides in wonderful southern cali, where I visit as much as possible. It’s all wonderful, we live on the worlds greatest continent, can have trade many, many funny jokes and all in all, we both kick ass.

BUT!

Some one earlier insult Canadian patriotism, especially in regards to our national anthem. First off, NO. Just no. I’d take my hockey skate and cut you if I could.

Skip ahead to about 5 minutes

Some people in san jose were stupid enough to boo our anthem. We tried to learn yours and by the end of the play offs, we could sing it pretty damn good. And don’t ever, ever insult us about not being patriotic again.

What do you call a Canadian with a full set of teeth?

The goalie.

No he cant. He’s bulking and thus unfunctional.

I think the only thing Canada do better than the States is, $5 dollar (U.S.) lap dances. If we adopt that Canada should just shut down, a?

Funny thing about Canadian patriotism, it has fallen off lately and the reason is Americans! Yes, I can whole-heartily blame the US for our drop in patriotism. How did this happen? Coors bought Molsons who then cut the “I AM CANADIAN” ads.

There I’ve said it, it’s out in the open and I’ll stand behind it. You bastards ruined our beer commercials!

And a Brit with a full set of straight teeth?

An immigrant.

Pointing at an American? You mean Rick Moranis pointing at Dave Thomas? Who was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada?
