Americans vs. Canadians?

What’s the deal lads?

Can someone please enlighten me to the finer points as to WHY you guys constantly take the piss out of one another particularly Americans towards their Canadian cousins?

Just curious!

P.S. keep it clean now…
BLAME CANADA!
BLAME CANADA!

With their beady little eyes
And flapping heads so full of lies

BLAME CANADA!
SUCK IT CAN-A-DA!

Hahahahaha!

Seriously though, I really don’t know why. Let’s all bury the hatchet over a Sam Adams and a shot of Crown or a Molson and Wild Turkey!

You cant pronounce Canada without duh.

Canada’s ok. My biggest problem with them is that they pronounce ‘about’ as “a-boat.”

I didn’t know you had any neighbors to the north.
You go any further north and you’ll start going south again.

Remember, Alaska is more than twice as big as Texas and has less 'nados.
indeed, a true Texan loves Alaska and is the only place he would consider living other than Texas.

Did anyone see that old john candy movie, canadian bacon? that was great stuff.

I don’t think there is too much animosity between canada and America. Think of the joint ventures, like the unguarded border, and NORAD. Norad is a secret canadian way to make the American’s have to protect twice as much airspace, right?

Most of us don’t actually. It really depends on the accent. There’s the East coast accent, the prairie accent, the hick accent, and then the “normal” accent. I guess if you go far enough West you also get a lot of Asian accents. The majority of us though do not pronounce about “a-boot” or “a-boat”

Have you heard the norther Wisconsin and Minnesota accents? The a-boat thing exists in the states a little bit too.

I missed that one, but for Strange Brew and half the cast of Saturday Night Live I am thankful to O’ Canada.

While its questionable to say we have better beer, we brew our beer at a stronger percentage of alcohol. Our hobbies are watching Americans getting really drunk while drinking Canadian Budweiser.
stronger percentage of alcohol = better

It is spelled C - eh - N - eh - D - eh.

Killed in Canada means banned from playing hockey for a month.

Ya, but you can get shot in the US just for popping your chewing gum bubble too close to an trigger-happy Texan.

Lol, just read myself: trigger-happy Texan… that’s redundant.

i though we were talking about the US and Canada? who said anything about the great country of Texas?

Well Zen warrior is from the Republic of Quebec, so it all kind of works out.

You got that right. Which is actually a bit disturbing, considering the average american doesn’t have a clue about the geography of the rest of the world outside the US border

Take it easy there Chips…our beer’s good…

All I know is, if I meet someone with a North-American sounding accent and I’m not sure if they’re from Canada or the US, I always ask if they’re Canadian first.

Most Americans don’t mind if you think they are Canadian - most Canadians throw a canary if you think they are from the US.

It is because they have an inferiority complex. It makes them overly sensitive.

Once on a road trip I stopped at a gas station in Florida. While chatting with the attendant, she asked where we were from. I said we’re from Canada; she said ‘Really? I thought you had to cross water to get here.’ No joke.

Well thats Florida. Special Ed classes are required for all students down there. Something about the sun beating down on their heads too much and causing memory loss. Its that and all of the inbreeding.

I think it has something to do with canadians being stupid and smelly.

Americans love when people call them Canadian, that’s why they sell “Going Canadian” kits for travellers.
