I heard recently that there is a new version of this show coming back. When I googled AG I got a post for an AG gym franchise that stated regional competitions would be anounced soon. Anyone here have info on this?
Is that the old show of Nickelodeon with the kids who did those contests at the command of the talking wall face who was called, “Old Mac?” Did anyone ever win that?
No, that was Legends of the Hidden Temple(and I have seen a team win it… once.)
American Gladiators was the adult game show where you had to be in decent shape to excel, they’d put you through the gauntlet with a bunch of guys and girls with 80’s porno-sounding code names like Laser, Storm, and Nitro.
You seriously don’t remember American Gladiators?
I barely even remember Legends of the Hidden Temple. I was like six years old and my parents canceled the cable subscription shortly after subscribing.
American Gladiators was a frickin’ awesome show!

Holy shit, that makes me feel old, and I’m only 20.

You must be like 12 years old. Even if you weren’t born yet, that’s like not knowing Charlie’s Angels was a tv show or that Knight Rider was actually once a hit.
American Gladiators was basically one of the foundations upon which my life was built. This had to be the key game of my childhood. I would be the gladiator and my older brother and his friend would think of these ridiculous challenges, most involved me being beaten with pillows or having a basketball thrown at my head.
I would say that I attribute a good deal of my athletic development to this game, although it’s a wonder I didn’t sustain a serious injury.
