Good thing you’re not the universal judge of who gets to live in our society. You might want to re-read OP’s account of story…particularly:

“We don’t know him or his friends name, but we joke around with them and we make fun of each other alot.”

Keep this in mind when discussing next part of this story and my “rambling.”

During that while I’m working, and my bro is resting, the brothaman walks up, and says, “So you and you friends, are you lifting partners, or butt-buddies?”

My friend responds, “What the fuck, is that supposed mean? Are you trying to solicit me you faggot?”

“The dude says know I’m just trying to joke around man, I thought you were a real funny, you know REAL funny, likes-to-fuck-dudes-funny…”

This is response(although,not immediate) to the OP’s joking around…the DB is not threatening them. Whether you believe him or not,he does say that he’s joking himself. He was still a douche though. But what IMMEDIATELY follows was a fuck up by the OP:

"I predicted the inevitable, so I went and grabbed the boxing gloves, and said. “Alright no more talk, we’re fighting, gentleman style, with gloves, I will ref or Rick will.”

"I throw a pair of gloves at my boy, and then toss some at the black dude. My friend says, “I’m game man, you want to act hard, come at- then. We’re not gonna jump you man, you can fight either one of us, it aint a big deal.”

Agreeing to fight gives ALL parties responsibility. In fact,the DB never agrees to fight…the OP is actually the instigator in pushing for the guys to fight. In fact,this could be used as an argument for saying the OP threatened the DB first. Plus,this is dangerous to even considering with someone you don’t know that well. Someone can still die from a “gentleman’s” boxing match.

"The dude says “No, I’m just playing around man, like I said, it’s all just a joke bro.” The dude walks away, to the other side to do more curls or something. My friend’s brain explodes, he pulls off his shirt, and runs up to the dude while he’s curling. Throws him over the dumbbell rack, and is right on this dude. He is screaming, “YOU WANT TO SHOOT ME? I AM RIGHT FUCKING HERE, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GOING TO DO?”

Regardless of what threats…and words were exchanged…this scenario will work against the OP and his buddy in a court of law…this is not self-defense.

If the OP were truly fed up…and “threatened” by the DB coming around talking smack…they should have let the gym people know…called the cops,etc. Plenty of chances for that in the story.

But their ego got in the way of dealing with this situation in a way that would have exonerated them from any responsibility. And it would have ended before any talk of guns was introduced. All of them are douchebags.

The escalation is entirely DB’s fault. But the starting point was the OP. An apology does not make a wrong disappear, and by the OP’s conduct in this thread, it shows the apology was never a genuine one. I even doubt if one was ever given. Who in his right mind write this shit anyways, talking about a show of disrespect towards others, even the criminal minded, as it if were something to talk about?

Yes, people like the DB should not have a right to live in a civilized world. And neither does the OP or anyone who disrespects anyone just for shits and giggles for that matter.

Being in a civilized world is not a license to provoke others out of pure boredom. It is NOT immunity from the laws of unintended consequences.

This is like me going to a safe house full of mafiosi or armed gangsters calling them names and shit. If I end up like Luca Brassi, sleeping with the fishes, certainly whoever I insulted broke the laws of civilized society…
