All Aboard the Event Horizon!

20 years is a game changer. With weapons technology and the money China has to burn, a Navy probably won’t be necessary. Unless the world economy goes back to the stone age, that is.

China has loaned us all their money. If a war were to start, all our debt goes by by, and they lose tons of cash. They only maintain a powerful position as long as there is peace.

They are becoming dependent upon us for their economy, if they haven’t already.

Communism has failed there, (everywhere actually,) and they are starting to embrace capitalism. More and more people are discovering freedoms as never before.

Capitalism is spreading there like a virus, and they cannot go back. That is of enormous benefit to us, and our relations. They are reluctant to give up too much of the old ways, and the power they have established, but it is only a matter of time.

And that is to their benefit as well as ours.

Interestingly we are headed in the opposite direction. (Obviously because ideology is so much more important then history.)

How does this relate to the topic? Who are you talking to?

China has no “blue sea navy” because in this day and age - in modern warfare - a navy is pretty useless. A bunch of big, costly targets just waiting for a volley of low cost missiles to turn them into so many tourist dive sites.

More Canadian penis envy.

We do better: Our ships are pretty much self-sinking.

We do even better.

We have none.

Well, we have two.

Where’s the port? Austria has lousy beaches…

You know whats interesting about what you said? As China and Russia become more capitalist we have become more socialist.

That’s a good point unless they think they can win in which case they would gladly absorb that loss in return for this continent. I will say that the prospect of a Chinese land invasion is not possible at this time, but that doesn’t mean we should militarily ignore them either. They certainly do not us.

That really is an incomprehensible bitch. They begin to adopt our economics and we elect theirs.
