I hear age get talked about a lot in the Olympics, is there a hard age limit to compete?

Pretty sure you have to be at least 16, but I don’t believe there’s an upper age limit.

Yeah I think that applies to gymnastics at least, or that’s where it seems to come up.

Yeah, I actually looked it up, and apparently there’s no universal age limit for the Olympics, but each international sporting federation sets their own limits. So for gymnastics you have to be at least 16 in the year of the games, weightlifting is 17, etc etc.
i think iv seen girl’s gymnastics and one of them was like 12 or so
she was incredibly young, but an freak - im my opinion it is too young for someone that age, so much pressure
Tom Daley, a British diver competed at the 2008 games having just turned 14!
I think that as long as the “fun” aspect of the sport is retained then children can actually perform just as well as adults as the perceived pressure isn’t as great.
Gymnastic and weightlifting are 16 for men and women.
