I just finished the 5/3/1 Strength Challenge and would like to try Advanced 5/3/1 next. Couple questions.
I want to focus a bit more on the oly lifts, so I’m wondering where you think they would fit with the template outlined on page 58. Should I replace the “optional” deadlift on squat day with an oly lift, or just do all three (squat, deadlift, and oly lift)?
Thoughts on replacing OHP with some kind of jerk for a few cycles?
You mention we can work up to a single on week 3 if we’re feeling good. Do you suggest we perform the 5x1 first, then if we feel good continue onward? Or go for a single, then drop back and finish the 5x1 sets?

Thanks Jim, or anyone else that has suggestions.
You should subscribe to his website. Jim posted a template that he did for one of his friends that has some Oly lifting in it, pretty cool.

Ah, really? I may just do that.
Yup, it’s a pretty cool site with lots of smart people on it.

You would need to do another program or different 5/3/1 template - there are DOZENS that include the Olympic lifts.
I really have no idea as the programming was never designed with the jerk as a lift - you would have to experiment with sets/reps and %. I don’t have much interest in the jerk as a lift.
Auto-reg this. It’s “Advanced” 5/3/1 so you need to be ready for that.
