Adrenal Fatigue, Thyroid, Hypogonadism, or a Mixture?

How much Armor thyroid meds are you taking? How many mg’s? How long have you been on it?

I’m interested in your case because I am always tired, have cold hands and feet, never have a body temp > 97.2 and have low normal T levels. So my tiredness could be T level related or thyroid related. IDK

Doctors always tell me my thyroid levels are “in normal range”. Therefore
“I shouldn’t feel tired. Now fuck off and go bother someone else”. Fucking doctors.
Low normal T? Be more specific, please! I’m taking 3.5 grain, which amounts to about 230 mg, if my math is correct.

Do you feel most tired about 4-5 pm?
SOrry Finger, I missed the notification that you had replied. My total T was 360. I am 51 y/o. I am usually more tired in the morning. I always have to take at least 2 naps before 1PM.

My doc prescribed .3CC Test proprianate every week. My total T and free T are now in the upper range of normal (sorry I do not have the labs in front of me for specifics). My Estradiol is low normal (which is what we want). But I am still super tired all the time.

My doc just put me on 10MG Hydrocortasone/day for adrenal fatigue. As well as starting a low dose of Cytomel, which is T3, for hypothyroidism. I would give you the lab #'s and dosages, but I don’t have it with me.

You want me to comment on these old posts?

No, sorry! I made a big post with an update but for some reason it didn’t go through. Didn’t mean to waste your time.

I’ll repost what I wrote.

So, update!

I finally took out my tonsils. My surgery was a success, and after a sorta painful recovery with eating mostly liquids, jello and mashed potatoes with ground beef and some codeine, corticoids and trometamol, I was brand new (sortof). I decided to wean myself off all the meds I was taking, so I cut Armour, Arimidex and am only now taking fish oil, vit D, zinc, B12 and a multivitamin.

Then something unusual happened. I started losing weight really fast, even though my caloric intake was higher than my normal, and after two months of the surgery, I started getting better. I’m not sluggish and tired all day like I used to be, and for some reason my libido is high like it never was and my confidence is also higher. I started to compete in the 5K and my time keeps improving, and I’m finally able to see muscle definition in my body. I lost around 45 lb since then until now.

So why I’m writing this? Two reasons, I want to tell you guys how I’m doing , and I also have a question. Life-changing as the tonsillectomy was for me (maybe it cured my adrenals? Judging from all the books I read it makes sense), I started getting some “weird” symptoms.

Some days I’ll get the same sluggish feeling I used to, and I"ll go from feeling like superman to feeling like a wimp, not really assertive and with a slow mind process (other thing I noticed is that I seem to react faster and my thoughts are also faster, like somebody polished the axioms and my synapses fire faster). Other days I feel so good I can’t even fathom feeling any different. I’m still not getting morning wood, but ladies reacted quite well to my changes in attitude and body language (or I just look better with less bodyfat lol).

I used to get some “good” days before, but now the situation is inverted and my bad days are far in between. I’m also sleeping SO much better and I wake up feeling refreshed rather than tired. I had some bloods just to see where I am numerically, and the results sort of surprised me.

My hematocrit is only 40% (low according to my lab ranges, but my aunt is a doctor and she told me not to worry, but I don’t trust doctors anymore after reading so much about their shortcomings), my erythrocytes are 4,36 (range 4,4- 5,9), and the white cells are all “in-range”, except for eosinophiles that are low. Eosinofiles … 1,4 % 98 /uL …range 200 to 500/uL

I’m not sure if this is a cause for concern.

Other bloods:

Total test: 2,64 ng/mL …Range : 1,66 - 8,77 ng/mL
Free Test (this exam takes longer and I’m waiting on the result)
TSH: 2,78 uIU/mL …Range: 0,30 - 4,50 uIU/mL
E2: 17,00 pg/mL…Range: 15 - 80 pg/mL

I didn’t have any other tests done, but due to that total test I’m thinking about running LH, FSH, fT3 and rT3 again to see where the numbers are and if I should attempt a restart.

I’m also on a ketogenic diet, I read somewhere that it might lower thyroid function, but I feel more alert and I carry less bloat so I’m pretty happy with it. My really low estradiol also surprised me, I feel no pain in my joints at all Maybe it was from the fat I lost?

It might also be the cause of my high cholesterol, even though my HDL went from low 30’s to 58 and I’m happy about that. My total cholesterol also lowered a bit, so the lipid profile changed for the better porcentage-wise.

You guys think I should take test to feel great everyday and avoid those off-days? Or I’m getting too greedy? Why do I feel better if my test is actually lower? I’m gonna take my morning temps again just to gauge my thyroid, but I wanted to post this so we could have some discussion.

My AST/ALT also came slightly over but nothing too alarming. I took 1700mg of metformin the day before the bloodtest because of a carb-up, so maybe it interfered with my liver values. It’s also supposed to lower test but would it work that fast? Should I re-run the total test bloods?

Thank you!
