A Thinking Man's Guide to Sets and Reps

I’ve read “A Thinking Man’s Guide to Sets and Reps” in the current issue of Testosterone by Charles Staley three times and still don’t understand how to apply what he is recommending. At the risk of sounding a little dense, I’d be interested in learning how others are going to put Mr. Staley’s Set and Rep recommendations to use.

I’m smart enough to recognize the value of his article, but I guess not smart enough to figure out how to apply it to my training. I’m curious to hear what others suggest.
