90% of Children with Down Syndrome are Aborted

Can you give an example of such a distinction?

^ This right here; If our rights are based on what the founding fathers thought, then the rights you currently exercise are a product of man’s mind, not God given.

I don’t like this nation as founded. There. I have no problem in saying it.

And, “no answer”? I’m pretty sure you didn’t ask me any questions.

Furthermore, if America’s right’s are only based on “divine rights” then they are NOT divine rights, at least in totality. Do you really want to live in a nation ruled by the edicts God laid out in the bible?

One last thing, you are aware that Detroit is mostly Catholic, right? Though, you’re not a big fan of Catholics so this probably doesn’t bother you anyway. =/

Should Men Be Silent in the Fight for Life?

By Laura Peredo, Published February 25th, 2012

'I often hear pro-choicers talk about this topic. I recently found this post, and knew it was a wonderful opportunity to write about men and abortion.

Pro-choicers often say that men shouldn’t have input in abortion decisions because it’s solely a woman’s issue. The author of that post even went on to say she wanted to “silence all the male voices in the abortion discussion.” Pro-choicers say the decision should be left up to the woman it’s her body after all, right? They say that most pro-lifers are men who are trying to control women’s bodies. Apparently, since men can’t give birth to babies, they don’t have any business in what happens to their own children. I beg to differ. Men have every right in the world to have a say in what happens to their children.

The author of that post (named “Not Guilty”) goes on to say:

"The main anti-choice voices for the U.S. are also all men. In fact, the majority of persons in government who are anti-choice, are men."

Now I’m not sure who she’s naming as the “main voices” in the pro-life movement, but I can name quite a few pro-life women who are integral to our success, and have made a huge impact. Take Live Action’s Lila Rose for example, and Abby Johnson. They have made huge impacts in the pro-life movement, and are both women. There are so many other men AND women who are indispensable leaders in this movement as well. It’s true that most pro-life people in government positions are men, but that’s because the majority of people in government positions are men anyway, regardless of their stance on life.

"And none of them can get pregnant. The people who are making decisions that affect the lives of women, CAN'T EVEN GET PREGNANT!"

Using this logic, if I’m never going to have cancer, I shouldn’t do anything about treating cancer. Since I’m not a dog, I should not have any say about what happens to my pet. If I lived in a place where there were slaves, but I was not one, I should not do anything for them since I would never be one. That’s a bunch of baloney. Yes, that yucky stuff packed with preservatives that tastes like a giant slice of hot dog. Baloney. Just because I am not something does not mean I can’t have a say in what happens to people who are that something.

"I truly believe that if men were no longer allowed to speak on the topic of abortion, every country would be pro-choice."

This author needs to do a little more research before making these claims, because women are more pro-life than men at this point. According to a recent Gallup poll, 5% more women than men said that abortion should be illegal in all circumstances. If you look at some of the largest pro-life Facebook pages, you see that the majority of the fans are female. Take Live Action for example, 78% of their over 300,000 Facebook fans are female. Wow!

And finally our “Not Guilty” friend says:

"It is that rage, that sense of complete and utter anger at a man telling me what I can and cannot do with my body that causes me to write that sentence, that causes me to want to silence all the male voices in the abortion discussion."

And this brings me to my final point: You’re right that men cannot legally force you to do what they want to your body. BUT fathers should have a right to have a say in what happens to their children.

Ingrained in every true man is the desire to protect his woman and children. Dads have gone off to wars for ages to protect what they love. They work full time to provide food for our tables. Our society has changed quite a bit, but remember hearing stories about knights in shining armor slaying dragons and saving damsels in distress? I’m not saying that us ladies are damsels in distress, but I’m saying that’s how guys are made. They’re made to fight for and to be protectors of what they love. How wrong it would be for us to rob them of their voices as they join us in this fight for life.’

End of Embryonic Period

This topic is often used to justify killing a child in their first home.

Michelle Duggar: “We’re not anywhere near being overpopulated”

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA, March 29, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) " TLC reality star Michelle Duggar has often been excoriated by environmentalist activists for having 19 children and contributing to what they say is the world’s ‘overpopulation’ problem. But the fecund mother and star of the reality show 19 Kids and Counting, told CBN News recently that she believes overpopulation “is a lie.”

The journalist for the Christian news network read an e-mail from a “friend,” which read:

I've always wanted to ask the Duggars what kind of environmental impact this super-large family is having on the world. The question of overpopulation might be a controversial subject, but there are a lot of people out there who find the amount of children they have to be too many, and more than the average of two kids per family.

“Oh wow,” Duggar responded. “The idea of overpopulation is not accurate because, really, the entire population of the world, if they were stood shoulder to shoulder, could fit in the city limits of Jacksonville,” she continued. “We’re not anywhere near being overpopulated.”

Duggar said that despite her family’s unusual size, they minimize their environmental impact by buying used and second-hand items headed for the scrap heap.

But ultimately, an abundance of babies causes her little concern. “I agree with Mother Teresa when she said, ‘To say that there are too many children is like saying there are too many flowers.’”

Duggar said she prays for and raises her children to be a force for good in society. “They’re going to go out into the world and they’re going to be the ones making a difference,” she said. “And they’re probably going to be the ones that are going to be paying for the Social Security and helping others in the long run.”

Ironically, experts say that underpopulation may be a more immediate threat to many nations, especially in Europe and the developed West. “We’ve had other countries coming to our doorstep asking us to please let their people know that they need to have more children, because their death rates are outnumbering their births rates, and they’re in crisis,” Duggar told CBN. “They don’t have people of marrying age for their youth now.”

The United Nations Population Fund has estimated Russia will lose ten percent of its already sagging population in the next 20 years.

Meanwhile the Chinese media have reported, due to sex-selective abortion, 20 million men will be unable to find wives by 2020.

“I think we’re so deceived when we believe” in overpopulation, Duggar stated.

Despite a dearth of evidence, the impending threat of overpopulation continues to exercise a hold over high-ranking officials in the United States and around the world. A new report states, despite policies that forbid the promotion of abortion or sterilization, the European Union has illegally paid abortion providers $30 million in taxpayer funds. Many of these expenditures were done in the name of “development.”

“If we look at economic development in so-called third-world countries, we see that very often the contrary is the case: a growing population leads to economic development. Development policies have to combat poverty, not the poor,” Sophia Kuby, executive director of European Dignity Watch, told LifeSiteNews.com.

Kuby said the funding of abortion in the name of economic progress is inspired by “a Malthusian thinking that says: The world will face unbearable overpopulation and the highest priority 'a priority that even trumps the most fundamental right to life ’ is to reduce population in developing countries.”

The Obama administration’s Science Czar, John Holdren, described himself as “firmly in the neo-Malthusian camp” in his 1977 book Ecoscience, which proposed limiting the world’s population through drastic measures, including “compulsory abortion” for American women, if necessary.

Duggar told CBN instead of culling excess population, [i]“we need to focus on loving people and trying to reach out and make a difference for good in our world.”[/i]

DOJ drops Obama-ordered appeal against pro-life activist, will pay $120,000 legal expenses

by Jill Stanek

" I wrote last week that while President Obama’s Department of Justice decided not to appeal a court decision rejecting its Freedom of Access to Clinics Act lawsuit against Colorado pro-life activist Kenneth Scott, it was doubling down and appealing another adverse court decision in its case against Mary Susan Pine (pictured right) in Florida.

Well, good news comes today from Pine’s legal representation, Liberty Counsel, with very interesting tidbits, bolded:

The Department of Justice has dropped its appeal in Holder v. Pine against pro-life sidewalk counselor Mary "Susan" Pine, who is represented by Liberty Counsel. The DOJ has agreed to pay $120,000 for this improper lawsuit. The DOJ had unsuccessfully sought thousands of dollars in fines against Susan Pine, as well as a permanent injunction banning her from counseling women on the public sidewalk outside the Presidential Women's Center abortion clinic.

After 18 months of litigation, the DOJ's case was thrown out of federal court, and the department was chastised for filing a case with no evidence. Federal Judge Kenneth L. Ryskamp stated that Holder's complete failure to present any evidence of wrongdoing, coupled with the DOJ;s cozy relationship with PWC and their joint failure to preserve video surveillance footage of the alleged "obstruction," caused the court to suspect a conspiracy at [b]the highest level of the Obama Administration.[/b] "The Court is at a loss as to why the Government chose to prosecute this particular case in the first place," wrote Judge Ryskamp. "The Court can only wonder whether this action was the product of a concerted effort between the Government and PWC, which began well before the date of the incident at issue, to quell Ms. Pine's activities rather than to vindicate the rights of those allegedly aggrieved by Ms. Pine's conduct."

After this ruling the DOJ appealed on the last day possible and [b]gave indication that President Obama ordered the appeal.[/b]

Pine also wrote in an email that the DOJ dropped the charges against her with prejudice, as it did with Scott, it cannot regurgitate this case against her again.

The news for these two pro-life stalwarts is great, although six similar lawsuits remain live.

But, wow, what is it that makes Barack Obama so obsessed with abortion?

These attempts to shut down the pro-life movement serve as more reminders how much of the people’s money and resources the Obama administration is willing to wantonly expend to make abortion as easily attainable as possible. "

People were ignorant when they supported the killing of Jews in '39-'45 because “they weren’t human.” Pro-death people use the EXACT SAME logic to kill the unborn!

Science is proving just some of the miraculous properties that create life. Some pro-death people try to show me were the human life started in the uterine wall. When someone can’t define something, they are therefore wrong. When they continue their stance with no grounding, they are in the realm of a complete and utter cretin.

I just saw it earlier today as well.

I’d be interested in hearing him explain this a bit.

Also, TT, are you an American, yourself? I’ve never seen you say and I get a vague (but not complete) impression that you are not.

Oh I wish we could get multitudes more to be this honest. “I love my country”. The United States IS NOT a piece of real estate in North America. It is a set of principles from which she was squarely launched. The ideals of her founding roots which are undeniably Christian in nature. Except for a flag, this socialistic heathen whorehouse and death trap bears almost no resemblance to the United States anymore.

TT lives in Canada if I remember something he told me once. However tigger, please don’t get too upset if I am wrong. Simply posting your location below your AVI, as to where you live leaves no confusion ; )

Spin: NARAL dubs parental consent abortion bill the “Arrest Grandma” act

by Kathleen Gilbert
Tue Apr 24, 2012 17:04 EST

WASHINGTON, April 24, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) The nation’s top abortion lobby has attacked a federal bill that would ban secret abortions on minors whisked across state lines to avoid parental consent or notification laws, nicknaming it the “arrest grandma” act.

The abortion group slammed the measure for preventing “loving” relatives other than a girl’s parents, or a “member of the clergy,” from helping girls get interstate abortions.

The Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act (CIANA), H.R. 2299, would make it illegal to transport a minor across a state line in circumvention of a state law requiring parental involvement. It mandates that abortionists comply with parental consent laws in the minor’s home state, by giving notice or obtaining consent for the abortion from the minor’s parents.

CIANA passed the House Judiciary Committee last month.

In an email Tuesday, NARAL leader Nancy Keenan urged supporters to urge House leaders to vote against the “arrest grandma” act, and questioned, “Shouldn’t a teen in this situation get all the family and community support that she needs - especially if she chooses abortion?”

“Isn’t this what ‘family values’ is all about?” she asked.

Parental notification laws for minors obtaining abortions are among the most popular pro-life laws in America, with national opinion polls finding 70% in favor. Over 30 U.S. states have enacted such laws. By way of comparison, [i]in states where minors can obtain an abortion without parental consent, almost all require the consent of a parent or legal guardian for the same minor to receive a tattoo.[/i]

Parental consent laws are typically billed as a way to protect underage girls from being taken advantage of by sexual predators, who otherwise would be able to bring their underage victim in for a secret abortion to hide their crime in the case of pregnancy.

In opening remarks at CIANA’s markup last month, Rep. Trent Franks (R-TX) said the widespread enactment of such laws has “made it clear thorough leg that parents have a right to know whether their daughters are trying to undergo abortions.”

“Parents play a critical role in the well being of their daughter, particularly in the abortion context,” he said.

Teresa Collett, a Professor of Law at University of St. Thomas School of Law, recently observed, [i]“There is no other elective surgery that minors can obtain while keeping their parents in the dark, and the controversy surrounding this Act shows just how severely the judicial creation of abortion rights has distorted American law.”[/i]

5 Male Celebrities I Support, And Why
By Kristen Walker, Published December 16th, 2011

Recently [she] wrote about five male celebrities [she] boycott for their pro-abortion views. Today, [she]'ll tell you about five famous men whose careers [she] can feel good about supporting, because they believe in and profess the sanctity of life.

Keep in mind [she] may disagree with them on other issues. But because [she] believe['s] abortion is the ultimate moral litmus test, if they recognize the evil of abortion, [she] know['s] their moral compass is pointed in the right direction.

  1. Mel Gibson - Let’s kick things off with controversy! [She] want['s] to be clear: there are things about Mel Gibson [she does] not like. He has made racist comments, and pleaded “no contest” to a domestic abuse charge. But he has also been dragged through the mud in the press, and not always fairly. The validity of the famous taped conversation with his girlfriend has been questioned by forensic experts, and his wife of 26 years claims she never experienced abuse. He has said his “no contest” plea was a way of ending the legal matter before it did more harm to his family, and he has maintained that he never harmed his girlfriend.

Still, Gibson himself admits he is a flawed man, and that’s one of the reasons why [she] support['s] him. Because despite being a troubled, broken human being with a failed marriage, a failing career, and an ongoing legal battle with the girlfriend who bore his child, Gibson has never wavered on the issue of life.

In a Barbara Walters interview in 1990, at the height of his fame, Gibson said:

“One can’t decide for oneself who comes into this world and who doesn’t. That decision doesn’t belong to us.”

Later, he vocally spoke out against life destroying embryonic stem cell research. He said this on a television commercial:
[i]"n 23 years embryonic stem cell research has not produced a single human cure. All it has yielded is tumors, rejection, and mutations. See bad science doesn’t attract venture capital. So why should the taxpayers be bled dry? This is Mel Gibson and I’m voting NO on Prop 71. Creating life simply to destroy it is wrong."

In 2010, cast and crew members of the film The Hangover II objected to Gibson’s involvement in the film, so the producers rescinded his offer. The same cast and crew did not object - at least not loudly enough to make a difference - to the involvement of Mike Tyson in the film’s prequel. Mel Gibson has used strong, offensive words and pleaded “no contest” to threatening his girlfriend. Mike Tyson was convicted of and served time in prison for rape. It’s obvious the problem wasn’t that Gibson did something wrong, but the political and religious flavor of his opinions and offenses. Apparently, according to the Hollywood elite, it is more morally offensive to call someone non-politically-correct names than to rape a woman.

I support Mel Gibson not because I agree with everything he’s ever done, but because on the most important issue there is - whether or not it should be legal to kill innocent human beings, namely unborn babies - he has it figured out. That lets me know there is a good heart inside him. Maybe flawed, but good. And it lets me know that there is hope for him. So I choose to support him and his career. Because of the voice he has provided for the voiceless, I think he deserves it.

  1. Jack Nicholson - Here’s another guy with whom [she] probably [doesn’t] agree on every issue. A living legend in the cinema, Nicholson’s politics are full of contradictions. He called Sean Penn “the greatest living American,” but he refused to criticize President Bush, saying, “I support every president.” He calls himself a “lifelong Irish Democrat” and once spoke fondly of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Nicholson’s opinions on abortion were formed by personal experience. He was a grown man when he discovered the woman he thought was his sister was actually his mother, and the woman he knew as his mother was his grandmother. His mother became pregnant as a teenager and was encouraged to have an abortion, even back in 1937, but she chose life for her son. The revelation that his sister was his mom was understandably difficult for Nicholson, and had a profound affect on him. For one, it made him pro-life:

I’m very contra my constituency in terms of abortion because I’m positively against it. I don’t have the right to any other view. My only emotion is gratitude, literally, for my life."

This short statement is full of humility, wisdom, and courage. Note that he says, “I don’t have the right to any other view.” He has understood, thanks to the knowledge that his own life almost never happened, that life is a gift for which we should all feel gratitude. His willingness to vocally oppose abortion in the face of Hollywood and his own political party is inspiring and should be encouraged.

  1. Ben Stein - You may not recognize the name right away, but you’d know the voice. The familiar drone of “Bueller, Bueller” introduced him to Generation X, but before that he was a speechwriter for Nixon and Ford, Columbia honors graduate, and valedictorian of Yale Law School. Later he went on to have his own show on Comedy Central, “Win Ben Stein’s Money,” and to teach law, appear in films, and speak and write on various issues, including the sanctity of life. Here he is in 2009:

[Personally my favorite quote] [b][u]“Every baby that is conceived has the right to be; that is a basic. And I will tell you something that I never felt before in my heart until this year: I feel strongly that the tide is turning in our favor - one of the best, most important ways to give your life meaning and to live a decent life is to value life when it’s old, when it’s infirm, when it’s a different skin color, when it’s a different race, when it’s a different sex, when it’s a different religion, whether it’s born or unborn - and if you value life when it’s unborn, you set a standard for valuing life and for giving dignity to life that will stick with you and the society forever.”[/b][/u]

In 2008, Stein was involved in a controversial documentary, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, that accused members of the U.S. scientific and academic elite of blind allegiance to Darwinism and unscientific rejection of theories of Intelligent Design which have been put forward by respected scientists such as those at the Discovery Institute.

The documentary sought to show how a materialistic view of the world “in the philosophical sense” leads to treating human beings as expendable. Denying the innate worth of human life led to Nazi eugenics and concentration camps. According to Stein, only in recognizing the God-given worth of every human being, born and pre-born, can we guarantee each other liberty and be truly free.

Ben Stein is a remarkable and gifted man and an unapologetic warrior for life. I’m proud to support him however I can.

  1. James Caviezel - Caviezel became the favorite actor of just about every Christian in the world in 2006 when he played Jesus of Nazareth in Mel Gibson’s film The Passion of the Christ. Like Gibson a Traditionalist Catholic, Caviezel told Catholic Digest he was challenged by a pro-choice colleague to act with the courage of his pro-life convictions and adopt a child with special needs. So in 2009, Caviezel and his wife adopted their second child, a five-year-old Chinese girl with a brain tumor. Caviezel said it didn’t change the colleague’s mind, but it did strengthen his own convictions that every life is precious.

“I was listening to Johnny Mathis the other day and I said, ‘What an amazing voice.’ I have yet to hear another person sound like Johnny Mathis - Look, I am for helping women. I just don’t see abortion as helping women. And I don’t love my career that much to say, ‘I’m going to remain silent on this.’ I’m defending every single baby who has never been born. And every voice that would have been unique like Johnny Mathis’. How do we know that we didn’t kill the very child who could have created a particular type of medicine that saves other lives?”

According to LifeSite News, he has “compared the injustice of abortion to the mistreatment of women in some Arab countries.” One of his recent films, The Stoning of Soraya M., is based on the true story of an Iranian woman stoned to death for adultery.

For living his convictions, in his art and his life, I proudly see every movie featuring James Caviezel, even if I don’t particularly want to see the movie.

  1. Eduardo Verastegui - You may not have heard of him yet, but give him a break; he’s had to go it alone. This Mexican actor refused to accept roles that conflicted with his strong Christian, pro-life beliefs. He was told he would never work, so he decided to create his own work. Along with Alejandro Monteverde and others, he founded the production company Metanoia, and their first film, Bella, took the world by storm in 2006.

Winning the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007, Bella was a beautiful film with a pro-life message of subtlety and spirit that surprised the world with its success. With a budget of only $3 million, it made about $40 million worldwide and put Metanoia on the map.

In January of this year, Verastegui pledged to build the largest pro-life women’s clinic in the U.S. His organization, Mantle of Guadalupe, raises funds for a pro-life pregnancy resource center of the same name in east Los Angeles, just miles from ten abortion clinics. A devout Catholic, he also promised, “I will not use my talents except to elevate my Christian, pro-life and Hispanic values.”

This year, Verastegui launched a website, IAmViable.com, which celebrates the lives and unique abilities of people born disabled. His production company Metanoia is currently working on several important projects with uplifting messages that affirm the dignity of all human life.

It may be safe to say that even in the few short years of his career, no actor has done more to promote the cause of the unborn than Eduardo Verastegui and his Metanoia Films. [She] will make it a point to support their work.

We shouldn’t let the trends or prejudices of celebrity affect our lives. None of us should make any decisions based on what the Kardashians do. But every time we turn on the TV or go see a movie we choose to support the actors and artists who created it. What we spend money on makes a powerful statement. [She] make[s] sure to further, in any way [she] can, the careers of these men, because [she] want[s] them to keep working and keep speaking out for life.

Who do you choose to support, and why?

It’s estimated that upwards of 90% of babies who are diagnosed with Down Syndrome through a prenatal test are aborted. That sad fact inspired John to create this video about his adorable son, Brandon. John says “Every child deserves a chance to live!”

Upon learning my unborn son had Down Syndrome I learned the heartbreaking truth about the fate of most children with his condition. Even more disturbing is the fact that some children are misdiagnosed and suffer the same tragic fate: abortion.
