Lol.

The odds are excellent that you are the only one here with a near relative directly & actively involved in mass murder.

For those who don’t know, Orion The Name Caller’s grandfather was a leader of the Austrian Nazi party.

Hey!

Why don’t you do yourself?
Where do you get that from?

He was a Nazi, period- so were many others.
…are you suuure he wasn’t a racist, Jew murdering, imperialistic, Russian village burning, order following Nazi?

It’s more fun that way!
Well, the order following does not really run in the family but for at least one of them the Jew murdering and the Russian villagre burn8ing could be true, and the Nazi part certainly is.
On a more serious note, and of course it doesn’t have anything to do with you, Orion, other than that this post reminded me of it…

Possibly the most disturbing movie I have ever seen is Come and See (original Russian title: Idi i smotri), about the Nazi’s systematic destruction of Belorussian farm villages. Short description: shows how they went into these rural farm communities and slaughtered the entire village, man, woman, child, baby, all.

The whole movie plays out like a bucolic version of Event Horizon directed by Felini. It is disturbing in the extreme starting about an hour end and then not stopping to catch its breath until the credits roll (actually not even then, as the very very most evil fucked up thing comes in a short paragraph at the end of the movie that just makes you want to tear your eyeballs out of your head to unread it and unsee the whole movie).

Just one example. As the Nazis have packed every member of one of the villages into a wooden church (or barn, can’t remember that part). They are going to burn the building down with all of the villagers inside, but first tell them that anyone who wants to can leave, but they have to leave their children inside. After they start shooting into the building with machine guns, lobbing grenades, and then blowtorching the whole thing, a young attractive blonde woman attempts to escape through a window with her newborn baby. The Nazi’s pull her out, take the baby, and toss it back through the window into the barn. They drag her away screaming. Later, toward the final scene of the movie, we see her walking toward a small group of Russian soldiers, her bare legs exposed with rivers of blood running down her inner thighs to her feet.

And that’s not the worst part.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked up.

…and back atcha!

The Jones book was given to me by a friend, whose own history of the Soviet military is translated and awaiting publication.
I once knew a man “who rode with Zhukov” from Kursk to Berlin, and could not speak of it.

Beevor’s Stalingrad is more about the military history.
Vassily Grossman is…sorrow beyond American comprehension.

But Jones tries to convey how the unspeakable horror is endured, and then changes the defenders, some of whom also commit atrocities, and some of whom do not.

U should watch the Grey Zone(2001) with Steve Bucemi, it a film based on the novel Auschwitz: A Doctors eye witness account.

Its based around the 12th Sonderkommando In the 1944 uprising at Auschwitz, it is a bleak disturbing film.

Yes, I’m sure Ramzi Yousef is a reliable source on AQ’s intentions and motives. That’s like quoting Hitler on why WWII started. As I remember, the Jews dragged Germany into the First World War, stabbed them in the back then dragged them into the Second World War right? Oh, and the Poles were castrating ethnic Germans and inciting attacks from the Gleiwitz radio station or something.

And as you well know - because I’ve explained it to you - AQ’s motive for attacking the US traces back to the Egyptian Islamic Jihad cliche in Afghanistan in the early 90’s led by Ayman al-Zawahiri. They influenced bin Laden and radicalised many of the Arabs and other foreign fighters. They believe that the west needs to be attacked and subjugated. They aim to destroy the US via exhaustion in the Af-Pak theatre, bring about a war between India and Pakistan then after victory march on Israel with the Mahdi at their head. The Iranians also believe a similar Shi’ite version of this lunacy. You know all this, yet you quote a load of AQ propaganda directly from Ramzi Yousef and claim to believe it.

EDIT:

AQ’s motives were probably more candidly revealed by Mullah Omar shortly after 9/11:

In an interview with the BBC, Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar vowed to destroy the U.S. and said that a plan is currently being implemented to achieve this goal. The interview was conducted via satellite telephone from Kandahar.

Following are excerpts of the interview:

BBC: What do you think of the current situation in Afghanistan?

Omar: You (the BBC) and American puppet radios have created concern. But the current situation in Afghanistan is related to a bigger cause - that is the destruction of America…

BBC: What do you mean by the destruction of America? Do you have a concrete plan to implement this?

Omar: The plan is going ahead and, God willing, it is being implemented. But it is a huge task, which is beyond the will and comprehension of human beings. If God’s help is with us, this will happen within a short period of time; keep in mind this prediction.

BBC: Osama Bin Laden has reportedly threatened that he would use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against America. Is your threat related to his?

Omar: This is not a matter of weapons. We are hopeful for God’s help. The REAL MATTER IS THE EXTINCTION OF AMERICA. And, God willing, it (America) will fall to the ground.

What would Kissinger do?

 1. Pull out of Afghanistan ASAP.

 2. Make strategic alliances with India, Russia and China.

 3. Make secret agreements with Russia and China to recognise their sovereignty over Burma and any central Asian republics they care to eat.

 4. Encourage India and Russia to fund, arm and train Indian nationalist militias in Kashmir and Russian nationalist militias in the Central Asian republics.

 5. Stay in Iraq and orchestrate an anti-Iranian coup then prop it up.

 6. Fund, arm and train Iraqi militias for attacks against Iran.

Ha ha ha! I like it.

The media don’t seem to take any interest in this stuff, but to anyone who’s interested - here’s some quotes from Mullah Omar’s 2011 Eid Message, released a couple of weeks ago. It starts:

“In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no…but Allah and Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. All praises are for Allah”

 • It goes on like this for some time…Anyway, then we get to some of the lies:

“Our manifesto is that Afghanistan should have a real Islamic regime…which will maintain good relations with regional and world countries on the basis of mutual respect, Islamic and national interests”

 • Doesn’t really fit with what he said 9 years ago in a candid telephone interview with the BBC does it? About the ‘extinction of America being the REAL matter’.

Continuing:

Contrary to the propaganda launched by the enemies, the policy of the Islamic Emirate is not aimed at monopolizing power. Since Afghanistan is the joint homeland of all Afghans, so all Afghans have right to perform their responsibility in the field of protection and running of the country.

 • Doesn’t really fit with his actions though does it? e.g. the recent suicide turban ‘peace envoy’ bomber he sent to former PM Rabbani. When I say ‘he’ - S. Haqqani owes allegiance to Mullah Omar.

On the coming Bonn conference:

This conference will not be different from the conference held ten years ago because neither true representatives of the Afghan people have participation in it, nor attention is paid to a comprehensive and real solution to the problems of Afghanistan.

 • And what are 'the problems of Afghanistan according to Mullah Omar?

Continuing:

The Islamic Emirate considers the presence of the foreign invading troops in the country; their blind-bombardment, night raids, their brutalities; tortures and tyranny as the main cause of the current imbroglio in the country.

 • This is the guy whose Talibs claim responsibility for such things as child suicide bomb attacks on the funerals of suicide bomb victims.

Continuing:

If the global invading coalition ends occupation of our land, the Islamic Emirate, as a peace-loving and responsible regime, will maintain positive relations with countries of the region and the world.

 • I don’t know about everybody else but I’m not drinking the Mullah’s Kool-Aid.

And regarding Pakistan, the US State Department and Gen. Mattis now openly complain about the ISI aiding Haqqani/Neo-Taliban/AQ. The AQ operations in the Af-Pak theatre over the last few years were actually formulated by retired Pakistani Army officers - Major Ashiq Haroon and Major Abdul Rahman - and Ilyas Kashmiri. All three were ISI assets. The current Director of the ISI Lieut. Gen. Ahmad Shuja Pasha, was actually appointed at Washington’s behest a month before the Mumbai attacks.

If you’re a history buff, you might be interested in a couple of books I recently acquired and read:
Sebastian Haffner’s “Defying Hitler” and “Germany Jekyll and Hyde”.
The latter is quite profound and paralleles many aspects of life today with the PC Marxist brigade gaining so much power.
The former is very interesting and a little scary, but again, much food for thought.
