Hey Gang,

thanks for the post, signed up d-loaded it and rolling to improve my ROM. Question - I’ve been having left hip flexor (area) soreness/tightness for quite some time. I do the marriage proposal stretch w/ that knee down and I can’t hardly rock forward out of the position (I’m huffing like a woman having a 12 pound baby trying to get out of that stance without pain). I assume I’m tight and weak both?
Any idea if this is rectus femoris (your video stretch comment), psoas, etc? I sit most of the day so attribute it to that, but am having a b* of a time stretching it out (been foam rolling it band and glute too). any tips appreciated. ps - I can squate so-so, but have a b* of a time getting down to receive the bar at the bottom of the deadlift position (my shins end up looking like I just dry humped a belt sander when I’m done).
After a run (ran 4 miles today), it is super sore. I’ve been working planks and ab wheel roll outs, but I really don’t think my lower core is much the problem here (anterior tilt, etc). Thanks for any help E.C.
I’m obviously not E.C., but the above quoted statement from your post may be a contributing factor to the tight hip flexors. Depending on the frequency of the running you do and the stride length you take/mechanics used when you run, it can greatly stress and shorten the hip flexor muscles. Especially when people get tired, they tend to take choppy steps and shorten their stride a good bit, which results in a hip flexor dominant movement/activity.
Not saying that is 100% the cause, but it just stood out to me and may be a part of the equation.
Also, I would look into combining your hip flexor ROM exercises with glute activation drills.
Thanks LH! I have been working glute bridges some, but will make them a more regular. Appreciate the help!
Did the link change? I cant find any video just the Show and Go link to buy the training manual.
