531 BBB

Was thinking of doing sumo deadlifts 5x10 after regular. Would this be beneficial or just stupid?

You could, but why do you want to switch an imperior exercise to a less than imperior ?.
Unless you are no able to deadlift, then this would be a change, not for the better.

Your exercise selection should reflect your goal. I think that is what I wanted to come out.

Well since im doing Conventional as the main lift i figured 5x10 sumo deadlift would help increase hip strength for the conventional deadlift…?

Im also curious is to why you think sumo deadlifts are less imperior also. Whatever helps you train the hardest and not get injured is imperior. For some the sumo deadlift is just that. Also the sumo is a more technical lift
Not only does the sumo deadlift help strengthen the hips but also helps the squat aswell…i think i just answered my origional post haha.

Its not bad, conventional deadlift is just a little better. It builds more muscle in the body totally.
If your need is to focus extra on hipstrength(conventional gives you that as well), then by all means.

But you know better what is the best for you. Jim also says ok for the Sumo as BBB. But I remember in the “50 FAQ” postet in the rear of his 531 books and on elitefts.com, hes says they are ok, conventionals are better.

snatch grip

Ok very good points there. Thanks for your helpback bone.

You too rampant.

Nothing inherently wrong with it, if your hips can take it. I’d alternate sumo and conventional, or snatch grip if you really hate yourself.
