Do you mean the science of “global warming?” Please. I love those stories like the recent one about Parliament debating a bill to fight “global warming” during a record early snowstorm in London. Priceless.
No, I mean the science that helps cure ailments, the science that proves theories correct, the science that asks the question ‘Are we really alone in the universe when there are billons of galaxies, with billions of stars, with tens of billions of planets’.
Do the math…thats a LOT of planets ! Shoot, there are billions of planets in our galaxy alone.
The thing that scares me ( maybe I should have said I am a little leary of Palins thought process when it comes to science), is that if there was a comet bearing down on the Earth, would she chalk it up to God’s will, and the end of days and say rejoice everyone, we are going to meet our maker ?
Yippy, the bible says the next time God destroys the Earth, it will be with fire, so let’s party !
The whole idea of we being the only life form in the universe is something I cannot believe in. I can’t even believe we are the only life form in the SOLAR SYSTEM.
There are frogs that lay dormant for years…decades, until they are revived by rain. Who is to say there aren’t life forms under the polar ice cap of Mars or under the icy surface of Jupiters moon Europa ?
If they have adapted to their environment simlar to the frogs we have here on good ole Earth, all they need is some event to spark them. Be it our Sun expanding and warming Mars some millions of years from now, or Jupiters radiation ramping up to warm Europa for a life sparking event.

So Sarah Palin said she doesn’t believe in the solar system or in billions of planets or in comets? I missed that one. Frankly, would you feel better if a comet was bearing down on earth and we had a Vice-President Dawkins who would tell you not to worry all human life is random fluke so it only makes logical sense that it would be wiped out by a random fluke like a comet? That would make me feel a lot better.
